Recruiting kids to farming country is hard. It's not like recruiting to southern california.

As for the data, here's a non-paywalled link for the 2018-2019 numbers before Covid:

Nebraska ranked outside the top 20 in revenue. Above them just in the B10, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Michigan State

Or we could go by the WSJ value rankings:
Where Nebraska does crack the top 15 at #15, but falls behind Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin in the B10; and is only slightly ahead of Iowa and Michigan State.

So like I keep saying Nebraska's peak at this point in history is that of which Michigan State/Wisconsin/Iowa have been hitting recently. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's no where near what Nebraska was in the 90's. Much like Michigan State won't ever repeat what they did in the 50's and 60's, I don't think Nebraska will ever come close to what they did in the 90's. Nebraska should be better than all of those teams based on being a "blue Blood" but so far have yet to show they can actually use the name to recruit better than that.
The 1 team on the list refutes your argument. It ain't all about money.

Then we can all agree. The days of Nebraska being nationally elite are over. Get @Red_Alert in to agree and we can close this one up.
as long as you admit michigan has never been and will never be elite. we can all agree that nebraska can achieve the same as michigan

LOL you clearly dont have the data you said you did... where is the finances our boosters are willing to pay for NIL???? where is the net worth of our boosters??? c'mon dont be a retarded michigan fan

You're clueless here, like you are on everything else on these forums.

Who said recruiting doesn't matter?

Better coaches typically attract better recruits.

Looking at USC for example, do you think they are able to essentially re-make their roster with the same quality of players if Clay Helton was still the coach?

Heck, Bryce Young committed to USC before he flipped to Bama. Do you think he does that if USC had Riley instead of Helton?
You mean the Bryce Young who grew up a USC fan and only switched to Bama because USC was a train wreck.

This goes back to my point -- TALENT RICH STATES are the only teams who are going to be elite in today's CFB. It is why coaches jockey for positions and use schools as a stepping stone to get to one of the select few schools.

To be elite -- you need the elite coaching AND the elite recruits. If you aren't in a talent rich state -- you will never be able to recruit like those programs who are.

When did we start talkig about South Carolina
we haven't, pay attention, we're talking about the Cornbelt version of the Gamecocks.

That's you. You're now equivalent to the Gamecocks.

Deny it all you want. They're now the same program, with the same unrealistic expectations that they can compete for championships if only they hire the right coach. Similar ability to pay large sums of money for the next hot guy, similar output on facilities and recruiting, similar won-loss records for the past 2 decades.

Enjoy your next Liberty Bowl! Oh wait

Y'all got Mathis for 300k.. that's not bad

Nobody said recruiting doesnt matter.

These mouth breathers think coaching is just a tiny fraction of a piece of the puzzle.

Its hilarious

We are going to the moon with Dave Aranda. Soooo…..

The problem with being a "blueblood" is having high expectations of maintaining that status and getting "blueblood" results. Very, very few teams can remain on that lofty plateau. Wisconsin is no blueblood, but their fans have been spoiled over the last 25-30 years. 10+ wins every season or bust.

few examples:
Texas since 2009
USC since 2008 (they've had a few really good seasons after that, but nothing like those dominant 2002-08 USC teams)
1997-2007 Alabama
Tennessee since 2007
90's Oklahoma

Or, just to kick Nebraska in the nuts, becomes OC at Iowa.
if you thought the boos on saturday were loud.... imagine if he actually did that.... people are disgusting and our most disgusting would come out in full force im afraid

Wrong. It proves the opposite of what you have been claiming.

You really should get yourself a smartphone because the one you're using seems to be broken.

What does tucsaloosa have that Lincoln doesn’t?
A large amount of blue chip recruits on a yearly basis. I believe what I read was -- Nick Saban AVERAGES 2 five star recruits a year since he has taken over the Bama program, from just the state of Alabama.

So basically - every year, he starts with 2 five star guys from his own backyard. Why? Because they were born and raised on Bama football. Born and Raised a Bama fan. Now those two elite recruits essentially give the coaching staff two of the best players in the country recruiting for them at all the national camps and national 7 on 7 tournies.

That is what Lincoln and the state of Nebraska doesn't have.

south carolina??? who are they? theyve never been worthy of discussion, hell they dont even have haters like we do.

Tell me you don't know the difference between Downtown Detroit and Detroit is for $500, Alex.

1. Impossible you saw blocks and blocks of graffiti and boarded up buildings when you got out of the Windsor Tunnel. Why? Because it is located in Downtown Detroit right by the Ren Cen, which the World Headquarter for GM.

2. When you get out of the Windsor Tunnel -- you are surrounded by office buildings, all of those office building are enormous. Companies with their headquarters in Detroit. General Motors, Little Ceasar's, Chevrolet, American Axle, Quicken Loans, Compuware. Not to mention Sysco, Deloitte, Fiat, Rocket Mortgage, Unisys and offices for Amazon and Microsoft.

3. You crossed over I-75, most likely on Woodward, which is where you found alot of building boarded up with graffiti. That is no longer downtown Detroit. A lot of those were bought out and tore down since 1997, as the Owner of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings built a new multipurpose arena for roughly $1 billion to house the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons. It comes with a new entertainment district.

4. I'm all for tearing apart outskirts of Detroit. In the select few areas, it is like the wild, wild west with all the shootings. That being said -- you'd have to WANT to go to those areas to get there.
Oh and you know nothing about the road work detour we drove to go West. Block after block of lights. It took a long time to get out of Detroit proper. Don’t assume you know shit about anything YO.

It proves exactly what i've been saying. I will wager with Lincoln Riley at USC now, a lot of those kids in Cali who have been leaving will now stay home to go to school.

Then again -- they may want to get out of the state of California, as they are bat shit crazy over there. I read somehow bees are considered fish in California now. :dhd:
