Frost fired

I think it's a bad one since I backed up my opinion with historical data. Nebraska doesn't have the location, finances, or recruiting ability to be a top program again any time soon. Even if they brought in the next Nick Saban, it would be more like Nick Saban at Michigan state than it would be Nick Saban at Alabama.
LOL you michigan fans are too funny!!

Location is not important.

Finances??? are you fuckin kidding me? Lets see your "data" on this.

recruiting is tied to coaching and success of getting players to the next level. more wins = better recruiting...

So you agree -- Nebraska days of being nationally elite are over. Thank you. We could have saved a lot of time by you posting this at the beginning.
And we would have missed 20+ pages of you typing it and fraudulently claiming one of us did.

Hoke recruited extremely well at Michigan and was an absolute shit coach everywhere. Harbaugh recruited very well for nearly his entire time at Michigan but has been a mediocre coach at best. So why couldn’t Nebraska, with the Frost hype, not able to recruit

Gawd you’re dumb. The Big XII ended our yearly battle with Oklahoma. You have zero real knowledge and it shows every time you post.

Maybe he needs another new phone?

Maybe he can get a smartphone this time?

He's mad because he thinks his team who has NEVER been elite can some day be elite and saying that Nebraska can do just as well as his shitty ass team hurts his feelers cuz he thinks Michigan is elite. Thats where his flow of thought gets all retarded :D

Huh? Recruiting under frost started off okay, then went to shit. Here ill post this YET AGAIN TODAY for those who cant click on spoilers.

Recruiting is one piece of the puzzle. Nebraska has sucked at coaching and in the weight room for a while now. it is reflected with the results on the field

FYI no Nebraska fan is expecting to hire a coach (even if it were SABAN himself) and be competing for National Championships. Nebraska fans want to see our culture restored, our discipline restored, our respect restored, the rest will follow whether it is 4 years or 10 if the expectations are met (in red) we'll be where we want to be as a program.

Once you realize Michigan is not elite, and Nebraska can and likely will surpass them. Thanks for playing.
That’s where Michigan fans get confused, they think they are on par with the Buckeyes after beating them once this century.

Hoke recruited extremely well at Michigan and as an absolute shit coach everywhere. Harbaugh recruited very well for nearly his entire time at Michigan but has been a mediocre coach at best. So why couldn’t Nebraska, with the Frost hype, not able to recruit
As it didn’t pan out for Frost in year 2, 3, or 4 the “ Frost hype” faded in recruiting. There are very few seniors on the current first teams so recruiting shows up in bright neon there.

The problem with being a "blueblood" is having high expectations of maintaining that status and getting "blueblood" results. Very, very few teams can remain on that lofty plateau. Wisconsin is no blueblood, but their fans have been spoiled over the last 25-30 years. 10+ wins every season or bust.

You stated winning gets you better recruits, neither Hoke nor Harbaugh won before getting top 5/10 classes. Since location and resources mean nothing to getting recruits or winning games there is no reason that Frost, coming off of back to back undefeated regular seasons, shouldn’t be able to pull top 10-15 classes but he peaked at 18. He never was okay at recruiting, EVER.

If recruits don’t matter and only coaching matters, why was Nick Saban trash at Michigan State? Saban was a .500 coach at MSU outside of one season.

Who said recruiting doesn't matter?

Better coaches typically attract better recruits.

Looking at USC for example, do you think they are able to essentially re-make their roster with the same quality of players if Clay Helton was still the coach?

Heck, Bryce Young committed to USC before he flipped to Bama. Do you think he does that if USC had Riley instead of Helton?

**ou ended the annual game. They didn't want to take more losses

Recruiting kids to farming country is hard. It's not like recruiting to southern california.

As for the data, here's a non-paywalled link for the 2018-2019 numbers before Covid:

Nebraska ranked outside the top 20 in revenue. Above them just in the B10, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Michigan State

Or we could go by the WSJ value rankings:
Where Nebraska does crack the top 15 at #15, but falls behind Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin in the B10; and is only slightly ahead of Iowa and Michigan State.

So like I keep saying Nebraska's peak at this point in history is that of which Michigan State/Wisconsin/Iowa have been hitting recently. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's no where near what Nebraska was in the 90's. Much like Michigan State won't ever repeat what they did in the 50's and 60's, I don't think Nebraska will ever come close to what they did in the 90's. Nebraska should be better than all of those teams based on being a "blue Blood" but so far have yet to show they can actually use the name to recruit better than that.

I saw block after block of graffiti fronted/boarded up buildings crumbling down and.block after block of trash and overgrown weeds. It made Gary, Indiana look like Beverly Hills. I am sure those leagues felt sorry for you Detroiters and tossed you a bone.
Tell me you don't know the difference between Downtown Detroit and Detroit is for $500, Alex.

1. Impossible you saw blocks and blocks of graffiti and boarded up buildings when you got out of the Windsor Tunnel. Why? Because it is located in Downtown Detroit right by the Ren Cen, which the World Headquarter for GM.

2. When you get out of the Windsor Tunnel -- you are surrounded by office buildings, all of those office building are enormous. Companies with their headquarters in Detroit. General Motors, Little Ceasar's, Chevrolet, American Axle, Quicken Loans, Compuware. Not to mention Sysco, Deloitte, Fiat, Rocket Mortgage, Unisys and offices for Amazon and Microsoft.

3. You crossed over I-75, most likely on Woodward, which is where you found alot of building boarded up with graffiti. That is no longer downtown Detroit. A lot of those were bought out and tore down since 1997, as the Owner of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings built a new multipurpose arena for roughly $1 billion to house the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons. It comes with a new entertainment district.

4. I'm all for tearing apart outskirts of Detroit. In the select few areas, it is like the wild, wild west with all the shootings. That being said -- you'd have to WANT to go to those areas to get there.

Just to change the tenor of the thread, what does Frost do now? Collect his check and take a couple years off? Seems unlikely. Who takes a chance on him?

Waits to be hired by Saban as an offensive analyst.

Your misunderstanding isnt my problem. Winning AND putting guys into the NFL help recruiting........... Winning helps put guys into the NFL too...Not sure what you dont understand....but that really isnt my problem....

Then we can all agree. The days of Nebraska being nationally elite are over. Get @Red_Alert in to agree and we can close this one up.
