Frost is coming back in ‘22

Probably a hard sell for Trev to the booster/donors, but I'm guessing the buyout drops considerably if he's not bowl eligible next season.

$20 million was a lot of beans.
Bro this is a weak excuse man.. y'all are getting the most distributed money than any other conference. It's not the money that is keeping him, it's because he's a former player who did great there. They don't want to get him out of there.. soon they will eventually get fed up and do what Tech did to Klingsbury

True Dat, but that media rights money needs to be distributed equally due to Title IX.
Albert's can't just say "We're gonna take $20 million of the $54 million and buy out the football coach. Well make the loss up on women's sports"

We all know who runs the extracurriculars at these universities. Boosters/Donors

They're the ones that have to dig in their pockets.

This is the right move. If they are patient, and willing to start a QB not name Martinez, he will get them there. Please tell me they don't have any backup QBs name Martinez.

I may have to reconsider ... recruiting, he has 9 recruits, last in the B1G. I realize it's a number game, but the highest rated player is 572. Yikes.

But, I've never seen anyone lose so may games by a single score ... I'd give him a couple more years to turn it around.
^^ My feelings exactly

I see this as Frost getting at least 2 more years, especially if he shakes up the staff and especially if he brings in a new offensive coordinator. Barring a complete meltdown in 2022 and regression from this year, he'll be back in 2023 as well.

Back in the day we had this Alabama alum as our coach. At first, everybody was rooting for him. He was beloved. Then he kept losing and losing and losing and we ditched him. Now he's a punchline and a lesson in making it about success on the field vs loyalty to a man. I still feel for the guy, though. It has to suck coming home and failing.

(It also must suck to be an analyst who fails as miserably as the guy did who wrote this story. FU, guy!)

Everyone is quick to think it's all on Martinez (which in all likely it probably is), but what about the guy who continued to roll him out there? How much of the blame does he deservingly get? Not like he hasn't had time to find a better option, through recruiting, the portal or grad market. So to me, I feel he should get even more of the blame than even Martinez gets. This isn't a surprise to anyone other than Frost.

As a Longhorn guy, playing musical chairs always fixes the problem when it comes to the staffing :(

Have to admit, I haven't paid much attention to the Big 12 this year. I didn't realize until today but, Texas sucks!
perhaps but we still have a solid shot at going bowling sir.. also this is year 1 for our new coach..this is season 4 for Frost.. what's y'alls excuse?

I’m trying my best to put an OD type spin on this. You all know what I’m talking about. To convince myself that we’re not giving up the largest lead in Alamo bowl history type post.
men of Nebraska and all that stuff.

Here’s what I came up with.

Shitty special teams play and a QB who has to run for his life all game.

Curious what the restructuring details are.

They do seem to be close to getting to a winning record and a bowl. They do not seem to be close to winning their division.

Baby steps?

New "pseudo-OC"/ wide receivers coach, new o-line coach, new RB coach, new QB coach.

Yep, I'm thinking re-working the money is to free up more to pay off the coaches who will be reassigned/let go and for the incoming ones.
