You are obviously an unbiased observer, so I will just take your word for it.The defense isn't going to take a "big step back" from one player. Also, maybe to you the safeties have done well, but they've only been ok in my eyes. Williams INTs this year have been pretty much given to him from bad throws. The most impressive players aside from Domann on defense this year, have in my opinion, come from the D-line.
Also, the offense is bad at scoring, not at moving the ball. As shown in the Nebraska by the numbers thread, Nebraska is #5 in the country in net yards per play. The problem is Martinez decision making and redzone play. I am even hesitant to bring up turnovers, sure he has 4 INTs against Purdue, but given the season, that is clearly an anomally. He only had 3 INTs throughout the whole season to that point. But yes, his fumble against Michigan was untimely, though I and I think most believe his forward progress had stopped given he hadn't moved in like 3 seconds of game clock.... but you have to play until the whistle.i
Back to Toure? Dude, Toure wasn't here last year, last year it was Robinson. My point is that Martinez gets locked in on receivers. This year has been Toure, I already said that. So it goes without saying that of course Toure will have the most yards, most receptions, etc... this is a dumb point. Next year, if Martinez comes back, I am sure he will pick a different target to only focus on, such as Betts or Martin or Allen or Manning, etc... and you will probably say something similar 'man it's gonna suck to lose Martin'. Yes, Toure is a solid player and I would love to have him for one more year just for that experience factor.
But it appears you are saying that with Domann and Toure leaving, both sides of the Nebraska ball are going to take a major step back. Go ahead and think that, but it's silliness.

Newsflash -- Robinson and Toure couldn't be more different. Toure spreads the field for Nebraska, he is averaging over 22 ypc. Robinson was used as an extension of the running game on screen plays. He averaged 9 ypc.
Take away the deep threat and it lets team play their safeties closer to the line of scrimmage. Nebraska was 69th in yards per play last year. They are 26th this year. Why? Because of Toure. Adrian Martinez has averaged 7-7.5 yards per attempt his first 3 years. He is averaging over 9 yards per attempt this year. Guess why? And you can say Martinez locks into WR's, but Toure only has 32 catches on the year in 10 games (Nebraska has 6 others with double digit receptionis) -- that's 19 catches less than Robinson, in 3 more games.
I will just leave it alone. You seem to think Nebraska is the same level as elite programs recruiting where they can lose elite talent and just replace them with the next man up and you will be better than ever and you have an excuse for everything. Martinez isn't turnover prone, the whistle should have blown, he threw 4 int's in one game, etc. etc.
Best of luck to ya. Hopefully Nebraska gets to .500 next year and gets to a bowl. The fan base deserves at least that.
