Hell, I remember similar issues many moons ago over how to split gate revenue during high school playoff games. Odessa Permian played Lewisville in Abilene back in the late 60s/early 70s. Permian had about 6,000 fans pay for tickets and Lewisville had 600. After expenses, Abilene ISD sent each school 50% of the remaining gate receipts but they didn’t put an equal amount into the pot. Smaller scale but similar issue.TBH, FSU is very important to the ACC.. Would FSU add value if they were to switch to the SEC.. and if so how much more are they worth? I think the guy said this in order to force the ACC to do something.. I have a feeling unequal revenue sharing is back on the menu as a short term solution for a real problem down the road.
I read that since Covid.. FSU and Clemson are the top 2 schools with viewership in the ACC
BTW I can't buy the number they say would take for them to leave (120 mil) I think that's just the exit penalty.. I think the number is much higher when it comes to getting it's rights back to go elsewhere. UT and ou paid 50 mil a piece to get out one year early.. how much would it cost to get out 12 years early?
Side note: Lewisville was leading at halftime and started mocking Permian with chants of “Where is MOJO?”. Shouldn’t have done that. All it did was wake up MOJO. Should have left the sleeping dog alone.
