I kept hoping one of them rubbed their eyes.
I've done that inadvertently and even with Jalapenos it burns like all hell.
That's why in my travels to countries like Thailand with HOT, spicy foods, I always had to remember to wash my hands BEFORE & AFTER going to the restroom.
A friend of mine didn't listen to my "words of wisdom" when at a small Thai restaurant (in Thailand) and was hearing some screams coming from the bathroom and his GF went to check on him and came back laughing... He didn't wash his hands BEFORE taking a leak and still had hot peppers juice residue from the food on his hands and...
