TV Series Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon

There was a pretty cool bit of detail in the last episode: the different reactions of people to bloodied Rhaenyra...

...coming into camp with the boar are nice bits of character development that give insight into their personalities.

Compare the disapproving reaction of Hobert Hightower and the disgusted reaction of Jason Lannister...:

...with the thoughtful reaction of Larys Strong and the gleeful reaction of Harwin Strong:

Also, one more still from last episode: House Strong!

Well done!

The Queen is dead. (Back when A Dance with Dragons was released in 2011, who would have thought she would die before the release of the next book?)

All hail His Grace, King Charles of the House of Windsor, Third of His Name, King of the Angles, Saxons, Normans, and Celts, Lord of the United Kingdom, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith.

Nicely done. That was a very illustrative scene for me. Clearly shows what people think the Princess should be. Jason Lannister is a smug prick (big surprise) and I enjoyed Viserys handing him his ass.

The Strongs are interesting. Not a book reader here and I really don’t recall the house (although some characters had the surname) in GoT.

I want to ask those in the know what happened to them, but recognize we might find that out soon. Considering Harrenhall in GoT is ruins that says something.

Really enjoyed last nights episode. I don’t really feel let down in any way yet some I’m enjoying it more and more as they flesh out the characters.

I do like Viserys a lot overall as a King. Mrs OE only knows this world from GoT and all the Targaryen’s are mad (like the mad King and Danarys at the very end of the show), so she is really intrigued by the more balanced Viserys.

Damon is just a damn beast in that last scene. Rather unrealistic, but that’s part of the show.

I know they talked a lot on GoT how the dragons got smaller and smaller until they died off. The dragons I’m seeing seem to be substantially bigger than even Drogon, but I might be making that up in my head.

Yep. That’s how fucked up of a week it’s been….I hadn’t been about to watch it until last night.

That is confusing. I meant it to say “this weeks episode”.

Viserys is such a likable person in power. Loves his family, isn’t cruel, etc.

Expecting him to be around about as long as Ned Stark. Normal functioning adults don’t get to live long in these.

That’s exactly the connection I’ve been making with Viserys as well….Ned Stark. He just can’t last long.

I think all 3 dragons shown so far have looked a lot smaller to scale than drogon, rhaegal, & viserion. Especially the one the Velaryon dude was riding in episode 3.

What an interesting episode. Some scenes a bit uncomfortable but that's by design. Show has been great so far almost to the halfway point of th season.

Agree. Story telling has been outstanding so far.

I'm confused by so much that occurred sy the end

This is awesome. Gotta say HOTD is less GOT and more HOC.

Great story so far. Probably better than either I've mentioned if I'm being honest

Definitely the best episode so far. Wish they'd slow down with the time jumps coming

What an ep!

Larys making his first play, getting the Littlefingering under way!

The whole wedding scene was masterful: the build-up and tension throughout, the entrance by Alicent, the choreography and production values and soundtrack, the Daemon-Rhaenyra scene.

This was a super episode. Very well done. I’m presuming the big time leap is coming next week, but who knows.

Alicent has fully shown her Hightower blood. Impressive politics coming together there.
