Bookie:
$ 1,000.00
Was watching Mecum at Monterey and they had some major stunners. So of course the dream big goes off like I can buy one of these things.

Got me thinking of asking what others would get in a classic especially if it wasn't about the money but your favorite.

Hard to put some kind of criteria for thread purpose but '65 to '72 Era and yes that can be stretched.

As much as those ford gt-40s gives me a stiffy, I just love the '68 Camero. LOVE IT.

My father-in-law has a '72 GTO. Wife & I have made it known to him that's the only inheritance we'd want from him.

My dad had a '69 Charger. His biggest regret of his life was selling it.

Oh man. Sweat car

I am a doge fan for sure as well. Not as big as my bro. For me, in that Era it was bow tie, Mopar, the blue oval. Not a big mustang fan at all.

My FIL is a retired automotive electrician. Back in the '70's, he wired in all kinds of custom gadgets into it too. He built a switch panel that controls some crazy cool shit like a smokescreen, blinding floodlights, a license plate concealer and a couple dozen other features - both legal and illegal. It's a badass ride.

Now I got wood.

My coolest gadget I have seen was a horn that was loud like a train in you face. I am jumping in my seat just thinking first time I heard it.

My dad needed to do some work on it. An asshole neighbor complained to the city about the non-running car in our driveway. City gave 30 days to move it. My dad didn't have a place to store it and had no money to store or repair it (which is why it was stationary).

If I ever have a large chunk of expendable income, I'd scour the earth for a blue 69 charger for my dad.

Good fences make for good neighbors.

I'm a truck guy. Probably my favorite body style is 68 to 72 Chevy C10s. There is a guy that has a turbo 350 in one here, and it is a bad ass rig. I'm still working on my 78 F250 Crewcab. It's almost all original, except the seats. Love that damn truck.

Had a "friend with benefits" that a rig like that. Trust me, one of my favs of all time even if a ford.

First vehicle was a chevy truck. '81 custom deluxe. Ain't nothing custom or deluxe about it. Cept the creager wheels and Cooper Cobra tires. Until I dropped a '68 vette engine in it..... threw in a sliding glass window cophase cb antennas, rifle rack and a truck box. Added a few dents just for shits and giggles. Almost got it stuck in a creek one time. That would have sucked. I still can't believe some of the shit I did in that thing. Like big um what.....?

My dad had a 63 corvette convertible that he bought for 5k and sold for 10k. I've heard these are pretty damn rare because the split rear window 63 corvette being such a collector led to the convertibles often getting used for parts.

have had this truck for a long time. Went from being a truck I tried to kill, to my daily work truck, to tearing it apart and rebuilding it and restoring it.

I have owned 3 '68 Firebirds with 3 different engine packages in my life. I'd take the 400 HO back in a heartbeat.

That being said, 1958 Corvette with the scoop and dual headlights has always been my favorite.

Those are nice classics. I drove an '87 vette to a show in Dallas. Had antilock brakes. They freaked me out. But at the show a black beauty like you described was sitting there.

I always thought that would be the car I bought dad. Had it painted canary yellow and given to him on a birthday. He would be playing rocking down the hwy from Frisco to sherman

First on my bucket list should be a 1965 Pontiac GTO

Then I would not mind having a late 60s model Porsche 911

And then I wouldn’t mind having a very old truck. My dad had a guy who used to work for him who had a 1948 Ford pick up truck. I’d love to have one of those.

My mothers friend was selling her 1969 Roadrunner.
I was a year away from getting my drivers license, so she passed on it.
Yep, had a 440

A couple of years later, my grandmothers friend (in her 80's) was selling her 1 owner 1966 Impala Super Sport with a 327.
Had to pass on it; didn't have anywhere to park it. Could have been mine for $2,000
