Group of 6? A new FBS conference

I follow South Dakota State a bit and the FCS power teams are largely the same most years and I don't recall the others being a factor anytime recently.
Central Arkansas
playoff in 2011, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2019

SFA
Playoffs in 2009, 2010, 2014, 2021

Of the dozen or so FCS teams moving up, I feel like JVST and Sou UT are the only relevant teams there.

No particular reason.

And I don’t even follow the FCS.

Southern Utah had a couple good years in the mid 2010s but theyve been pretty awful since 2018. 1-10. 3-9, 1-4 (COVID Year), 1-10 & 5-6. They are a under .500 program all time too. So yea, not really relevant.

Jacksonville State is easily by far the most relevant.

with realignment
it will be New Mexico State, Sam Houston, La tech, Jacksonville, Kennesaw, Middle Tenn, Western kentucky, Liberty, FIU i think
Yep. We're losing UNT, UTSA and Rice. We would definitely be better off in the MWC. I forgot SDSU. We're closer to them than Rice also.

Yes but thats largely believed to be the Pac target

Of the bunch, I'm going with Sam Houston St. Jac. St would be next. SFA, no. C. Ark has decent possibilities. Dark horse would be Abilene Christian. They were a div ll team just a few years ago and built up a decent fcs team. They are getting better very fast. Of course it helps that they are in Texas, however that hasn't helped SFA much.
From the old days, I wish that UT Arlington would get their team going again. They could make a fast rise and could possibly out do UTSA. The one football game I looked forward to the most, way back then, was the UTA/McNeese game. Always a slobber-knocker. Back in the Southland Conf. That was a pretty good little boy conf. UTA, Sam Houston St., La Tech., USL(UL-Laf) Arkansas St., N. Texas, SW Texas St.(just Texas St. now) and a couple others that are still in the SLC.

Not sure what UTech or North AL did to get promoted tho.

Seems like everyone else earned their spot. It’d be pretty cool to see Montana, MTST, Sac St, UDE, Holy Cross, or YTST move up tho.

Whew, good call on changing the mascot at the last second. Can’t have anyone getting suspicious about copying someone else’s work.
