Gus Malzahn Is Not Interested In The LSU Job (or USC)

To win National Titles, you have to recruit but it isn't everything and isn't the sole reason these teams win it all. It takes a formula of great coaching and recruiting. In fact, your Nick Saban argument actually proves my point that the coach means more than the players.

The NFL is different in that you can have players like Tom Brady that do more for the team than coaching. Belichick is not winning now that Brady is gone from New England. You don't have that same type of player dominance in college level. Schemes and coaching make a difference.

Funny @CorpRebel liked your post but he should know first hand. USC tends to recruit better than most of the Pac12, even when down, but yet they struggle. The early Oregon Chip Kelley teams that beat some of the later USC teams under Carroll and then Lane Kiffin are great examples of this mentality.

Texas A&M is loaded with talent and high recruiting classes but they have dropped 2 games so far.
Since you refuse to answer the question, I’m going to assume you believe Saban would have had the same success with consecutive top 30 recruiting classes as he’s had with consecutive top 5-10 recruiting classes. Okay?

I never said coaching wasn’t important.

I am lost. What was your point then? Coaching is bigger than the players but you need players as well (especially to win a National Title). With top 30 classes, you might could win 8-10 games but you wouldn't break through into that top upper echelon crust.

2nd & 17 at the opponents 23 yd line, take a shot into the EZ. Brilliant.

Then a missed FG. :gaah:

Don’t know much about Malzahn. Would VT be a good fit?

And then almost a muffed punt recovery for Tulane. :snoop:

It’s going to be that guy from Michigan State. Everybody knows that Michigan State is just a steppingstone to LSU

TD, Knights. About fucking time.

Now hopefully they won't fuck this up. :hope:

A dropped INT that would've ended it.

Ballgame. I'll take a 14-10 win.
