is it really a vacation if you bring the kids?

Not really, but it is a different kind of vacation. I love our family trips because we have a lot of time together and make memories, but it isn't a true vacation.

With that said, I don't know if I've had a true vacation in nearly 10 years. I always have my work computer with me. Even in Vegas I usually work for at least an hour or so every day. Hell, I even finished my taxes when I was in Vegas this time.

How did OP know its laundry day?

Garments are only washed on Tuesdays and Thursdays

We are currently debating our family vacation for the summer. We've narrowed it down to southern California or Denver, but can't get a consensus. We need to get it rolling though because I'm starting to get things scheduled in August for work already.

Yes. Between my schedule and theirs, I get very little actual time with them. Once they’re grown and gone (like my oldest), even less. Enjoy your vacations with the kids while you can still get them.

i'm enjoying the kid free life

I'd say I can do anything I want, but I am married

Hmm oceans or mountains. I think I would go to California for vacation

Glad you didn't take your kids to Vegas.

Slinkette has a friend whose parents took their family to Vegas for spring break. What a vile place to take children.

This is like adult guy who takes trips to Disney alone.

Colorado. Hands down.

What is in SoCal that you want to see?

We just got back from a family trip and it's awesome to see how much it brings my kids together. Spending time with each other, experiencing things together and looking out for one another.

I like Northern Cali, but would be absolutely content if I never went to SoCal again.

Raising kids is a serious pain in the ass, but if I had had any idea how much I enjoy it, I'd have started earlier and had more.
