Looks to me like 1997 Michigan should have been eliminated.

Yet Iowajerms put Michigan in this thread and voted for them. LOL

That poll was really the only one I did follow my rules.

Top 4 automatically go in the bracket
Bottom 4 get eliminated
The middle ones get in this poll.

1997 Michigan got 5th

OK. So why isn't 1997 Nebraska in this poll, but Michigan is?

You also voted for Michigan here.

This poll are the bubble teams. I should have titled this one "Bubble Thread." 1997 Nebraska is in the bracket. 1997 Michigan will need to finish Top 6 of this poll to make the bracket.

Fuck '97 Michigan and the Big 10 for hiding in the Rose Bowl and not taking on the best available.

Wouldn't that have been a contract situation? I remember when Aaron Rodgers complained that Texas got Rose Bowl over California because the contract.

If there is a tie for the 6th spot, I will include votes from the first poll they were part of, if still tied, then there will be more than 16 in seeding poll.

As of right now, these are the teams in the seeding poll

Auto In
1997 Nebraska
1998 Tennessee
2001 Miami (FL)
2004 USC
2005 Texas
2009 Alabama
2013 Florida State
2019 LSU
2020 Alabama
2022 Georgia

From this poll - as of right now
1999 Florida State
2008 Florida
2010 Auburn
2011 LSU
2014 Ohio State - most votes from first round of polls compared to others with same # of votes in this poll
2018 Clemson

Am I wrong here in that 2005 was Texas and 2021 was Georgia?
Crap. I did mess up 2021 Georgia. 2021 Alabama was eliminated.

I didn't mess up 2005 Texas. They are automatically in. 2005 USC was one of those middle teams.

I will include 2021 Georgia in the seeding thread as I messed that one up. So, 6 from this poll + 2021 Georgia + the 10 teams that are auto in.

FWIW most fans of Big 10 teams outside of michigan also believe Nebraska was the rightful champion that year.
Let's be honest. Ohio State hasn't beaten Michigan in football in 1,234 days and that is why you made the comment. I don't know if Ohio State even has players on their team right now who have beaten Michigan on the field. :hide::hammer:

ohio state beat us when we didn’t show up … a bullshit COVID excuse … that does not negate the Michigan 1997 Season.

Using that logic -- Illinois (I think) must have beat Ohio State during the COVID year, as OSU had to cancel the game because of it.
So it still stands -- OSU hasn't beaten Michigan since 2019 I think.

Does the 99 Nebraska team beat the 97 team?

I don't know, but I wouldn't vote for 99 Nebraska because they had a loss.

Undefeated teams did everything they were tasked to do. Teams with losses did not.
I also won't vote for teams that weren't tasked to play the best available.
