HooplaNation's College Football Week 6 Rankings - Discussion Thread

Thinking about this in the other direction. If Michigan finds themselves down 17+ points, there is no hope in a comeback, especially in the 3rd quarter or later. Yeah, the defense can clamp down, but the offense has to do something... and that doesn't mean a string of three and outs, especially when the "better" teams come to play.

I would say they should just play Davis, but my god is your Oline awful in pass protection, they'd get the kid shell shocked.

Evan Link is particularly terrible, kid is a living turnstile, they really don't have anyone better to replace him with?
Michigan has Tuttle, Jadyn Davis, Warren and Orji at QB. Unsure how Davis hasn't been tried yet.

Our WR room is basically empty. We have more walk ons than scholarship players. It's pretty dire.

You spelled Oklahoma wrong.

I am not well versed in things as many of you (not trolling). But how does a program like this let it get to this? Look at what Cignetti is working with at Indiana. How are those players "there" and in a system that seems to be doing okay or better? I mean, holy shit, look at Duke. Elko leaves, Manny Diaz comes in, and they are undefeated. Yeah, I know they haven't really beaten great opponents, but they have a QB that can throw the ball farther than a damn spitball, and receivers that catch the ball. Who in the hell on that Michigan staff looked at who left, got drafted, etc. and what was left and sat back and said, 'Yeah, we good." And what in the ever loving name of God is Donovan Edwards doing?

No one wants to play for the crybaby?

You almost have to hit the transfer portal heavy this next offseason or its gonna just get uglier.

Yeah, but it’d be funny so I hope they don’t.

I still don't know how they didn't at least get some veteran QB, maybe not a top guy but a guy good enough to throw it around some if needed. I believe Sherrone has flat out said before that it was because they were "confident in what they had"......that would make me question him as a coach alone.

"confident in what we have" is boilerplate for "we couldn't land anyone else". Not sure if it was the trouble around the organization that kept players from signing up to maybe have a bowl ban, the change over in coaches, or the lack of weapons but something kept the team from restocking.

The OC was a god awful hire too. I know they are limited with what they have but they haven't even tried to get creative or find other ways to make it work better. It's just the simplest of run plays and hope the defense fucks up a couple times a game.

Eh Michigan is not very good but I wouldn't be shocked if they stumble into 9 wins

You just can't trust teams like Indiana, Washington, Sparty and Illinois not to soil themselves.

With how Michigan plays it only takes a couple of fuck ups by teams like that to get them behind and Michigan is able to run the clock out before they can catch back up.
Agree. Michigan finishes 10-2. Only losses to the rusty cows and bucknuts.

You’ll like this one. Had to go back to the old home town to deal with some things this week. Had breakfast with my old Aggie neighbor…the retired vet. I ask him if he got a call to contribute to the “payoff Jimbo” fund. He said he did. I said “Well did you?”. He said “Hell no. But I told the guy that called I’d make a large contribution to a fund that would castrate and fire the son of a bitch that approved Jimbo’s contract. I also volunteered to perform the castration since I have experience.”

Scott Frost said the same about a guy who went to LSU and had a decent season.

This year is basically a waste since most of the offensive skill players we have are gone next year and there’s no functional QB to develop. We’ll have to see this offseason if they actually plan to do something about it or if we plan to just stay on the course and try to recruit that talent; but that takes time that Moore probably won’t have after this year.
You will feel better after we choke away another possible victory.

This thought of what you stated above also crossed my mind. Now, I also wonder if any possible recruits were "ignored". Fuente did that shit at Virginia Tech. He was piss poor at recruiting the Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, DC area.

Heard this on a podcast: Colston Loveland has more receiving yards than the next four players combined, and he has missed 1.5 games.
