Nebraska couldn't even move South Alabama off the lines.
Again... That's the culture that Frost has had to give an enema to.

I've spent far too much time engaging with someone who is not even a fan of the program, has shown in the past to have a chip on their shoulder regarding Nebraska's legacy, and is awestruck with low hanging fruit.

If I had all day, I'd flip this conversation to Oregon's lack of any legacy. You know... Low hanging fruit. Have a great day.

USC should have already dumped Helton. But their administration isn't as football focused as other major programs so he gets more time than others would.

A couple good things that Helton did was bring in Todd Orlando and Donte Williams. That helped that get back on the map in recruiting. USC's fear is that Helton is going to have elite talent and keep winning 8-10 games with it but never really contend nationally. Only time will tell.

I hope for Nebraska's sake that either Scott Frost takes a step forward this year or the new AD has more sense than you do.

Harbaugh walked into a program with two top 10 classes (one was top 5) with a top tier defense. He had 11 players drafted in 2017. There was talent up and down his roster other than at QB when Harbaugh showed up in Ann Arbor.

And Nebraska had more talent on paper than anyone else in the Big Ten West when Frost showed up.
 
Va Tech coach. Thought he was going to be good. Hasn't showed it yet. Or VaTech has simply regressed to their mean.

I was having fun with a Nebraska fan who had been trolling Oregon prior to that. Trust me, like most recruits today, I don't really care or think about Nebraska much. Frost used to be the OC at Oregon so I'm rooting for him to do well though.

There's a difference between wanting someone to do well and honestly evaluating whether someone has done well. I wanted Chip Kelly to be successful in the NFL but he clearly didn't.

Congratulations. Nebraska actually did fairly well in the 2016 season. Unfortunately Riley couldn't sustain it.

Hell, Nebraska almost made it 2-0 because Willie Taggart was an idiot but Oregon was fortunately to hold on after nearly blowing a 28 point lead.

None of that has to do with the original topic but ok.

Dude was left with a dumpster fire, had to start from scratch and fix everything, including the entire culture/overall mindset of the program. The "Win right now" mindset that most 17-21 yr olds have doesn't help and neither does the lack of fertile recruiting grounds.

It's doubtful that they'd get someone better anyways.

Yeah, but part of NU's problem is they have fired decent coaches always thinking there is a better out there. Frost has proven he can win at UCF. Give him time to figure it out. What do they have to lose? And I have no attachment to him ... just think people pull the plug too fast where there is not much chance for success anyway.

I think 4 years is plenty of time with the transfer portal and all the ways teams can rebuild nowadays. And I'm not saying fire Frost if he goes 7-5 this year. But you have to start seeing some progress. The Big Ten West is a division that you can win games in.

You should know better than anyone, Frost took over an 0-12 team at UCF and led them to an undefeated season in year 2. It's true that UCF is much easier program to win at than Nebraska when you figure in recruiting and SOS but how many years does Frost need before Nebraska should expect a bowl game? 6 seasons? That seems a little crazy to me. Lovie Smith only got 5 season at Illinois and he took over a much worse situation and made a bowl in year 4.
