Hot Seat…who’s the hottest?

Tuesday night Dora and WVU. It will be epic. Does it give us an excuse to argue with our wives that we infact do not have drinking problems? “Well god damn, babe, it’s Tuesday night MAC Attack and we are playing Kent State!”
Macaction on a Tuesday?? Sure

Only problem is my wife would think Saturday is free for us to do something incredibly stupid like go to a picnic or some shit.

This isn’t 1995 anymore. Nebraska might be the 4th best team in a weak division. Why go from the second/third best team in a conference to a cellar dweller?

Sparty 'bout to be Stepping Stone U................. Again.

BTW, Frost is 1-1 against Mich St. The Huskers have good company in that cellar.

Bout to be? Shit we been living there

I think eventually the money will come but I can’t see it being more then the other Power conferences. We’ll see though. I am rooting for Cincy to make the playoffs though.
It will be less than now, but it should be much higher than any G5 conference and in the same neighborhood as the Pac and ACC money (per school). The Big Xii will be either the 3rd, 4th or 5th and 6th will be significantly behind. Don't look now, but Houston is about to take down Undefeated #9 S.M.U.

Welp, I think I am officially on the fire Frost train. I wanted to wait, but this is ridiculous. His 4th year and he is about to have his worst season. Tons of talent left/leaving through the transfer portal and still has probably the 1st or 2nd most talented team in the division, yet will likely finish last in the division. We will finish this season asking which was the bigger win, Buffalo or Northwestern... pathetic.

And the big thing is.... if it were ANYBODY else, would I still want to give them time? Fuck no. Everyone wanted this hire to work out, but the fact is that it hasn't.

Dan Mullen is 2-7 in his last 9 games against P5 teams, those two wins are Vandy and Tennessee this year.

He threw out a kid that clearly wasn't ready to make his first ever start against arguably the best defense in college football this season and then left the kid out there to die.

He has never taken responsibility for any loss while at Florida, he threw everyone under the bus except Todd Grantham when a bad LSU team ran all over them.

He's struggling on the recruiting trail, and even admitted to take off from recruiting during Florida's bye week

I really don't see how he survives.

Yeah, Florida has an easy end to the schedule, and will probably finish 8-4, but with the way last season ended for Florida and how this one has gone down, there's nothing left on the table that can save his job IMO. Really, if he drops another game, it's probably damn near a lock that he's gone.

I came to this conclusion weeks ago.
It's a Coaching issue.
You guys have the talent. You can see it.

I wanted it to work.

Well in his defense he can't be expected to win when the last time the REAL Gators played was after the Tennessee win last year.

Poor guy...its like the team had it out for him?

Oh I told people when he was hired that I was worried given his soft HC resume. I said a few times last year that Frost needed to be fired, but I always wanted to wait, thinking something would eventually click. Plus you didn't want a revolving door of coaches, program needs some stability and the players love Frost.

But this is just too much. The one score losses are just a joke. I am really curious what Alberts is thinking right now. Does he keep Frost and force his hand on staff turnover in the position coaches to get more out of the players or does he just wait till January, say fuck it, and go and get a new coach?

I'm not overly impressed with anyone other than Fickell, but he has never left Ohio and is probably comfortable holding out for Ohio St to open up some day, so I highly doubt he would come.

Idk man, it's just sad to see a Blue Blood, such a storied program, a program that led the country in many categories and competed in the top 5 in numerous other categories, a team that was a perennial top 25 team (often top 10), a team that routinely competed for national and conference championships.. just slip down to.... this.

He just needs a QB and a defense.

Special teams would be a bonus.

I would make a call to these guys in this order, just to check their pulse;
1. Matt Ruhl
2. Matt Campbell
3. Dave Aranda

#2/#3 are probably looking at a pay cut in a year or 2.
and who knows if Ruhl is happy.

I've thought about them, just worried on them not working too lol.

Ruhle had a good thing going at Baylor and dipped for the NFL, that seems to be what he wants.
Campbell I like, but chose to have a bad year at the worst time. When hopes were the highest.
Aranda I'm not sold on either. We need a sure fire proven coach, not another guy with 2 seasons under his belt, a losing season and a good season.... we did that with Frost.

I would give Dave Clawson a call, but most of these college football ADs don't like winners, so its not gonna happen

also doubt he leaves Wake anytime soon

It's a total luck of the draw. There is no sure-fire hire when it comes to coaching.

Remember when Frost, Fuente, and Herman were the sure-fire hires?

well, Herman was hired @ the bottom feeder known as Texas, so the guy deserves a second chance. It is too tough to win in Austin

Well.... Frost had 2 years of HC experience. One year was a losing season and the other year was an undefeated season. Not enough to go on.

Fuente had 4 years and did show growth with Memphis and even while at Va Tech he has been bowl eligible every year except last year (still has a fair chance of becoming bowl eligible this year with a horrible ACC).

Tom Herman may not have taken Texas where they wanted him to in the short time they had him, but he has never had a losing record in his head coaching career.

Out of those 3, Frost is far and away the worst.

Nothing is sure fire, but we need about as proven as one can reasonably get. I'm not against offering Saban an insane deal lol.

I know a certain national championship winning HC that is available next season.
