Why would Matt Campbell take a massive step down to go to Nebraska
ISU has never bothered me and I’ll root for them when they aren’t playing WVU. But you’ll never convince being in Lincoln is a step down from being in Ames. Why would Matt Campbell take a massive step down to go to Nebraska
Cause he's about to be a G6 coach. Why would Matt Campbell take a massive step down to go to Nebraska
This isn’t 1995 anymore. Nebraska might be the 4th best team in a weak division. Why go from the second/third best team in a conference to a cellar dweller?ISU has never bothered me and I’ll root for them when they aren’t playing WVU. Yes and it's due to coaching. Nebraska has like the 4th or 5th best recruiting talent in the entire conference. The fact that they can't put it together is because of culture/coaching.This isn’t 1995 anymore. Nebraska might be the 4th best team in a weak division. It wont take THAT much to be the top dawg in the BIG west. Agree NU's glory days are long gone but that doesn't mean that they cant have success in that division on the regular and IF a few transfers pan out... maybe they win the conference from time to time. This isn’t 1995 anymore. Unless ISU goes on a bama run, they will never be a step up from being at NU. SorryThis isn’t 1995 anymore. Nebraska might be the 4th best team in a weak division. Why go from the second/third best team in a conference to a cellar dweller?
Not having All-American LB and defending Big Xii Defensive Player of the Year *Mike Rose* not play today due to injury was HUGE. Not the reason they lost, but it did effect the defensive play a bit, as he calls all of the defensive signals. Even when you were poor mouthing (in a good funny way) earlier in the game, I could tell ISU was in for a long day. I'm not as concerned with the W or L - (which could have gone either way), but ISU is either really sharp or really dull this year from game to game. You just don't know until the game starts. They literally were capable of winning all 8 games or losing all 8 games (well, maybe not @ UNLV or Kansas). Hopefully, they have a sharp week this week against Texas! West Virginia pressured ISU from jump, and good on the Mountaineers for that!Yeah I’m surprised how they’ve been. Watching them today they got no push on the dline so our QB had a ton of time and picked their secondary apart. It’s shocking because last year he spent most of the game on his back and it’s virtually the same ISU team.
I’d say he (Campbell) is better with no expectations. Which I can understand the hesitancy to being ok with that. But the dude is a fantastic coach.
I did not realize you were missing some starters. That did make a difference. I just felt Doege wasn’t hurried much all day and he was able to hit receivers. Our d did get a push but to be fair your O was moving the ball with ease. We just got lucky a few times. You are right, this game could have gone ether way and I thought the horrible spot they gave Purdy at the end was BS, he got that first down And the clock should have stopped. But still, you guys didn’t play great and still could have won the game. That’s a well Coached team. Not having All-American LB and defnding Big Xii Defensive Player of the year not play tody due to injury was HUGE. He earned it.you just gave @Handicappers a giant boner
You got me good
I said boner, not dildoHe earned it.
That's all theoretical IMO. If a Coach is good at where he is, why does he need to go somewhere with more history? Do you expect every successful West Virginia coach to automatically want to go to Penn State, Ohio State, etc. if they have success? I don't. As for Campbell, I am 100% not worried about him leaving for Nebraska or any other place because it is a "Bigger" job. He might leave, but it's not an automatic given. He can build and win and be successful (in a Fry, Snyder kind of way) at Iowa State the way that he wants to do it. He's not just trying to pimp himself into a bigger job like some folks. He doesn't even have an agent. Just works out his contract details with Jamie Pollard (A.D.) himself.Unless ISU goes on a bama run, they will never be a step up from being at NU. Sorry
Hey, he can do whatever he wants in the Jason's Deli bathroom.I said boner, not dildo
We had an alumnus lead us 1 game from the NC having a wildly successful run only to leave us for Michigan. if I’m being honest then yes, I do expect a coach that has success at WVU to move on to a bigger program. Hell I think when the Kentucky job opens up Neal is gone. It’s going to take someone to prove me wrong to think otherwise to your question. That's all theoretical IMO. He is a different breed of coach IMO. He is compensated well, Ames is a great place to live and raise a family (which he is doing) and his family is set financially if he decides to coach out at ISU (even with the new Big Xii). NOW, if Jamie Pollard (A.D.) left or retired, and he doesn't get on with the new A.D., I could see him go somewhere else. If anything, I think this year will rev his juices up to figure out what is not clicking this year with the talent he has. He's built a solid foundation (The seniors on this team have only experienced winning seasons and Bowl Games). I expect that to continue as long as he roams the sidelines at Jack Trice Stadium and beyond (unless a goof is hired). Just my thoughts.
These is the FACTS. What the fuck is in Aimes, Iowa; Lincoln, Nebraska; Lubbock, Texas; Norman, Oklahoma; Stillwater, Oklahoma; Columbus, Ohio, Tuscaloosa, Alabama?ISU has never bothered me and I’ll root for them when they aren’t playing WVU. But you’ll never convince being in Lincoln is a step down from being in Ames.
