I Hate Flying...

How was the flight? Did you get a window seat for yourself and the wife? I hope you have a good return trip

To be fair, that was American Airlines, I don’t know your carrier. I hear they recently boosted their engine reliability to over 80%.
First pic looks like a composite slat.

Damn…thank goodness it isn’t as critical a flight surface as a flap!

Headed to Aruba tomorrow from Charlotte. Not my first time. But I hate flying. This message board is great. Y'all know what to do. If you the praying type... Do so. If you some other type, whatever it is... Send good vibes, thoughts, etc. Many thanks.
Must be having a good time.
Last seen; Monday........

Or, you know.

Benadryl can help too, if a person doesn't drink. I also know a couple that uses Dramamine as well but not for motion sickness.
Nah.

Heroin. That’s the ticket.

Flew out of Douglas Intl before. They keep that place chilly.

Planes are much safer than a bus.

Think about it, you can be traveling down the road on a bus. Just cruising along without a care in the world.
Then...

BAM!

Outa nowhere, a plane falls out of the sky, smashing into the bus, creating a ball of flames, leaving everyone to die a fiery death.

You never have to worry about a bus knocking a plane out of the sky.

When I was younger, I would have a couple of drinks before boarding the plane and then back in the day they would actually give you for free little miniatures and mixers on the plane. Oh how I missed those days. Just got back from Orlando, our flight Was cookies, soft drinks, water, or coffee
Welcome to Bible Belt Airlines

I was in two bad helicopter crashes in the military. I was in two small plane crashes, one in Great Bend, Kansas and the other in an Oklahoma alfalfa field. And I missed a Delta flight in Dallas by 5 minutes that crashed shortly after takeoff and killed about a dozen people. I have friends who flat refuse to fly with me. They say I'm F'ing jinxed. I say I'm blessed to have survived all that.

I wouldn't fly with you either.

I hate to fly also. And my family always wants to vacation over seas. I drink heavily when I fly

First pic is a spoiler, not good to lose but not crucial. The second pic shows the flaps :suds:

Well, no. It’s a nationwide thing, if you want to drink now on the airplane, you gotta pay for it or sit in the right section. Airline greed has ruined the free drink.
I think all the drunk a-holes that can't handle their liquor at altitude ruined it more than greedy airlines.

You can still get a drink by paying for the drink & sitting in 1st class or an upgrade ticket. But it's no go in coach. It used to be free!!!! Maybe assholes don't sit in 1st class??

First and Business usually have their own flight attendant and at most 20 people. Economy has 150+ for 2 to 3 flight attendants to handle. Very easy to pay attention to 1 of 20 people who might have slammed a few before walking on the plane and needs to be cut off than it is when you have 50'ish people to keep track of.

Beer at baseball games used to be $.25 AND they would give out mini baseball bats. 100% certain it wasn't greed that ended those either.

LOL... Well, you may be right.

I guess when checked baggage used to be free that has to do with airline stewards & stewardess' as well?

But to think that those .25 beers that are now $8.00+ at the baseball aren't a little greedy. I can't help you.

Just got back today. For some reason, it would not let me access this site while in Aruba. Got in my seat and announcement comes over. We have a small delay for minor maintenance. Wife looks back out the window and sees a guy putting tape on the wing. Yeah. Bout shit my pants. Both flights to and from were pretty smooth and quick. Valium and bourbon definitely helps.
