I really want to like springtime

meh...he's in his twenties if I recall correctly. I don't know if I saw a doctor in my 20's.
I hardly ever went to the doctor growing up. We didn't have insurance so if you needed to go, you had to have the cash to pay the practice. Didn't really start going regularly until I got employer-provided insurance in my mid-20's.

Even now, I don't go for well visits every year. Just go when I have some kind of flare up issue

I turned 30 earlier this month

Not going to the doctor much is one reason I hated obamacare. It's wrong to make a person buy health insurance when they don't need it.

I had a much different insurance plan in my 20's and 30's then I do now.

If you can't find OTCs that fix your issue, you need to hit up an allergy specialist.

Get your shot(s) and don't worry about having to take medicine.

The money you spend for OTC relief over time would validate going to the doctor ONCE EVERY SEASON YOU'RE EFFECTED and getting a little shot.

It isn't about pride or whatever...its about feeling better every day. Saving money in the process doesn't suck.

They have nurses come and check on us once a year at work. I’m the biggest ill ass in my family, but I’m the only male that has good blood pressure

well, that's good. but if high blood pressure is a thing with the other males in your family, most likely it's only a matter of time before you join them, so i'd be cognizant of that if i were you. same thing with cholesterol. i'm not saying you should be a full-blown hypochondriac looking to take a bunch of maintenance meds, but it's good to get an assessment of your health from a professional from time to time. i suppose if they bring nurses around your place of employment, that's pretty good, too.

Why you bein all oppressive, man!?

Allegra in the morning, Flonase before bed. Both available at a grocery store or pharmacy.

Edit: generics work fine, too. Fexofenadine is the generic name for Allegra, fluticasone is Flonase. Haven't really seen generics for fluticasone, though.

Also, sounds really weird, but when I had a real bad sinus infection, the doctor prescribed Robitussin, because apparently it helps get mucus moving just about anywhere. Or he was a big Chris Rock fan.
This is the right info. No need for a doctor. I go with Flonase and Claritin during spring. Flonase daily, Claritin as needed. But, when it is needed it’s just one pill for the day.

It absolutely helps.

I don't really go to the doc either, but I do get blood work done every year

I don’t go to the doctor, so no prescriptions
I had pretty extensive sinus surgery 5 years ago after dealing with bad allergies for over 40 years. 3 &1/2 hours of surgery left me with one big sinus cavity instead of the multiple chambers that get clogged up far easier and with a once a day prescription strength (singulair) life is so much better. I still get some allergy related issues and tend to blow my nose about 10 times in a row each morning when I get up, but I can smell better, breath through my nose better and could snort the 50 yard line on a football field if I was into that.

Just get some daily use over-the-counter allergy pills. I use them in the spring and fall because my seasonal allergies suck.

I get these ones and they work pretty well.

Equate Allergy Relief, Cetirizine Hydrochloride Tablets, 10 mg, 90 Count, 2 Pack - Walmart.com
I’ll look into that. Musinex used to work great, but it doesn’t seem to do the trick anymore. It would probably help if I remembered to take something before I go to bed, but I get to drinking and forget and spend the first two hours after getting out of bed blowing out snot

I mean, the weather is decent, baseball is starting up, good fishing weather, but man pollen kicks my ass every year.

Wake up every morning with a stuffed up nose, a sore throat and a headache.

Is there a way to make my sinuses stop being such pussies in the Spring?

I would advise seeing the doc JIC. Since you are a fighting man it may be narrowed sinus from getting your eye dotted. Happened to me had a reamout done on that sinus and few problems since.

Well... My ONLY medical issues are my sinuses and that is a year-round issue for me. Season's don't matter in my case. :tsk:

Good Luck! :beer2:

Allergies?!? So you have a pretty weak constitution, huh? Bet you can't drink very much then.

 :heh:

It’s just springtime for me. Might have some mild allergies in the Fall, but it’s not even worth taking a pill for, but the spring pollen always fucks me up
