If you were on the playoff committee, what four teams would you vote for?

UGA getting the Bama monkey off their back wouldn’t have been nearly as special if it were in the semis.

When it gets to 12 teams, we’re probably gonna start seeing more NCGs between conference foes, but as long as it’s 4, they need to put who they think the 4 best teams are in order and pay no mind to conference affiliation.

I think UGA and Bama were clearly the two best teams last year. If Michigan and OSU are the two best teams this year, they can prove it on the field, and will have earned their spots in the NCG

The expanded playoff could make things interesting. It will likely benefit the big programs. Get a school who loses a few early on due to injuries or new QB learning the system but is really hot at the end of the year and they can make a run.

I have no doubt UGA and Bama were the best 2 last year. Its just any time its a game b/t 2 conference foes, the national interest drops a bit.
 
That said, I think UGA wins by 2 scores at least and we don't really even have to worry about it this season.

I know it does, but to me national interest shouldn’t factor at all into the committee’s decisions IMO

I think Alabama is the best two loss team, and if we had to settle for a two loss team in the playoffs then Alabama could make a good argument. Clemson also had two loses, and they won their Conference. I would have given the nod to Clemson. I prefer Conference Champs.

The best part... Tennessee drops like a rock bc they lost Hendon Hooker. Then Hendon Hooker doesnt get invited to New York. How can that much importance be placed on a player when it comes to rankings but you don't say he is one of the four best players?

I actually found it funny that in the final playoff rankings, 10-2 Bama and 10-2 Tennessee each jumped a spot while 10-2 Penn State fell 3 spots when none of them played last week :headscratch:

Since their only losses were to Michigan and Ohio St, they must be being penalized for that 41-12 beatdown they put on @ Auburn?

Bama beat Auburn 49-27 in Tuscaloosa, and Tennessee beat Bama in Knoxville.

49 pts scored >> 41 pts scored

There ya have it.

More than H2H/shared opponent outcomes? Come on. If you're ranking them based on Hooker being out you should also take into account that Young won't be playing.
