I’ve never been less interested myself, and there’s so many factors. The game is changing in general with the portal and all that, feels like a whole new reboot of college football after the weird covid year. I’m not gonna complain about it, it had to go the way it’s going at some point. There’s just no arguing it’s different. 2 years of covid times in general, life is just different, and I’m sure that plays a role too. Our team has never been less exciting, the whole culture and vibe of the program feels like it was just destroyed in one year, so not having a team to care about doesn’t help. Call me a band wagon fan or whatever, but I think you know how this is just different. I sat through the willingham years and 0-12 and my support never budged. This year I had to try to force myself to care, and just didn’t really care to put out that effort. Then on top of that, we have hockey now, and that’s fun even if your team sucks. I’m gonna go with the thing I don’t have to put out extra effort to enjoy.
I’ll always love UW and Husky football, but I don’t see myself ever planning my week around it again. A new chapter I guess.
