Not sure how often you go to NW part of twin cities, but it's place right off 694/University you can see from 694 by where I used to live. Place was always busy, I never understood

Comparable to Pizza Hut, Dominoes...I'd have hard time rating those 3 in any particular order

We called those the "caf sprints" in college. Our cafeteria's food seemed to always cause the shits when you came back and had to acclimate your system after eating actual food over breaks.

Ate at quite a few of those places in college, because the cheapest way to feed a bunch of athletes is to take them to a buffet. Golden Corral was the worst.

I've been to one Golden Corral that was tolerable, it was in all places, Wisconsin.

It was very popular so everything was at least fresh and warm.

How do you want your steak
Medium (normally I go mid rare, but at GC, I'm going medium)

(cook proceeds to break several steaks in half until he finds one that is medium)

reminds me of my latest experience at a hotel pool/hot tub.

wife was taking a nap so the daughter and I go down to the hotel pool and hot tub. Great to soak some tired legs after walking all day. We're the only ones there for like an hour, then this family of what I can only describe as "hill people" come in. I'm guessing they're here for their first bath in weeks. The parents are as big as fucking houses. The dad is so fat he has to take his socks off with a stick... and I wish he hadn't. His fucking toes were so gross I almost threw up. Then he waddles on over to the hot tub as we're getting out. He mumbled something in hillbilly as I tried to avoid eye contact with is feet. I told my daughter that we're going to just assume this is the first time these people have been to the pool.

We didn't use the pool/hot tub for the rest of our stay.

Breakfast there wasn't awful, they had an omelette station and would cook them up fresh. Otherwise, the rolls were tolerable, and everything else was crap. Mostly ate chicken and rice.

Ryan's was the least shitty of those places, as I recall.
 
went to Casino buffet in rural MN

Guy in line missing a leg, and I'm assuming he wasn't combat vet and it was amputated due to his type II diabetes

Most of the places we've stayed have had so much chlorine in the pools, even the families that @RoyMunson described would barely foul the water. I'm much more concerned if the chlorine smell doesn't burn my nostrils as I walk in.

I had Red Baron on Sunday. I just wouldn't call it good pizza. But it qualified as food and it was quick.
