morning

weekend was good...I actually got to hang out around the house and get some stuff done.

normal week in and out of the office this week then heading to Rhode Island this weekend for a few days (Newport and Block Island)

morning all

Ok weekend, Mrs Pnk was in was in wisconsin until saturday, Saturday night I went to a wedding, but Mrs Pnk had just gotten home and was exhausted, so I went solo. Wedding was fine, it was both bride and grooms 2nd wedding, and older, so smaller/casual affair, just family and close friends. I was there until about 9.

Sunday Mrs Pnk went back to Wisconsin, her dad got out of hospital and needed someone to be around today as he can't be alone, but she'll be back home tonight

Got hammered by a hailstorm friday night, so roofing vultures are out

Got a lot of rain this weekend, and the humidity was really low yesterday. I love summer but I am ready for fall weather mainly because that means college FB is here.

Those dudes are worse than personal injury lawyers. We had some bad storms last month and my Dad (who lives alone) had one come to the door saying he was there to investigate his roof damage at the request of the insurance company. Dad wasn't buying it and asked "who is my insurance company?"

Of course the guy didn't know and started to change his story, was promptly told to leave and a reference to a .38 may have been mentioned

Morning.

Getting the first oil change and tires rotated on the pick-up I bought last March.
6500 miles.
Really thinking I am going back to doing my own service. Last time I had my Ram in it was over $100. Thinking I can cut into most of that

Had a good turn out for the flag football league sign ups. Yesterday didn't do too much. This morning was a nightmare as I had stuff coming out both ends. Working from home currently and a feeling a little better. Guessing fast food doesn't agree with me anymore.

I got an email over the weekend that I am receving a settlement from the First Energy class action suit. $3.36

Beers on me boys!

I don't know. We had a storm like that a few years ago, one of them showed up and I let them take a look at the roof. They found hail damage, I called my insurance company, they sent out an adjuster and I got a new roof.

Unless I'm an insurance company, I don't see why you wouldn't like that.

When I bought it I negotiated free oil changes, air filter, and tire rotations for 3 years or the first 36,000 miles.
That's when the bumper-to- bumper warranty expires as well.
After that then I'll just do them myself.

Although when you do the cost comparison for 4-5 quarts of oil, new filter, your time, clean up, disposing of used oil, then $100 isn't bad.

Conceivably, yes it would be helpful. Except, the dude was lying in saying my Dad's insurance company requested them to come out

I am running numbers too. Truck takes 7 qts and is full synthetic so I am likely going to pay over $70 just for oil and close to $10 for a filter. Then the issue is what do I do with the old oil?

I wasn't defending the specific guy or company that visited your pops, just questioning the notion that those "vultures" are "worse that personal injury lawyers."

Haha fair enough. Speaking of lawyers, did you get your settlement from First Energy?

This. I've found that changing your own breaks makes sense, but fuck changing oil. The savings doesn't make up for the hassle.

Take it to Autozone for free

I don't believe I have, but I sure hope it comes in soon. My car payment is almost due.

"darling, can you pass me that doohicky?"
