Itsa Monday!

Oh, it just occurred to me that I should consult the HOA regs before I service my own vehicle in my own garage. Don't want folks thinking I am running a business out of my home

I am running numbers too. Truck takes 7 qts and is full synthetic so I am likely going to pay over $70 just for oil and close to $10 for a filter. Then the issue is what do I do with the old oil?

Yeah, I asked the service manager how much oil my truck takes. He said about 7-8 qts.
By law, oil changing places have to take used oil for free.

I think the more annoying part of taking my truck into a shop is the inconvenience of getting there and back.

I do a lot of my own maintenance on my truck for that reason.

but I will let them do my tire rotations since it is free with the purchase of my tires.

I was first in line at 8 am on the appt I made last Friday. I was in and out in an hour. Just hung out outside and surfed my phone.
They were nice enough to wash and vacuum it out for me.
Invoice: $0.00.

Got suckered into announcing the youth football games this weekend. I am apparently now their announcer. Bleh. Should've tanked it.

Pads and (if necessary) rotors.

You save a couple hundred bucks minimum if you do your own brakes.
I was just being a dick over brakes/breaks grammar

I will bring mine in for tire rotation with my Kindle and a coffee and be fine while I wait.

I did not know that. Guess I will need the wife to keep some milk jugs for me

Nice truck buddy! I love that color
my Ram is almost the exact color

Thanks.

Chevrolet calls it 'Northsky Blue Metallic'.

It shows dirt, dust, and rain spots pretty bad, but it was $5,000 cheaper than a white one because it had been sitting on the lot longer.

Got a deal at a car wash for 8 Ultimate touchless washes a month for $35. I use all of them.

If you have a gravel driveway, used oil is good for settling dust.

I have been trying to move my router and modem upstairs from the basement and couldn't figure out why the coaxial plug in the libing room isn't working...so I traced the coaxial lines I have running through my housefrom the basement and figured out that the one plug in my living room doesn't have a line going to it...instead the previous owners rerouted it to go behind the fireplace where the tv was mounted.

so I will be trying to figure all that out soon...for now I have my router and modem up by my television but I am not a big fan of that...too many blinking lights

I loathe following gravel trucks and keep my distance no matter how slow they're going.

Took me 2 months to get the first chip in my windshield and that was kicked up from a regular semi not even a gravel truck. grrrr

any chips in my windshield I have gotten them from another vehicle kicking it up from the road, not a gravel truck

I wasn't defending the specific guy or company that visited your pops, just questioning the notion that those "vultures" are "worse that personal injury lawyers."
I mean I get it, they see an area hit by hail, they should get out there

so long as it's a MN Based company, (or your home state, I should say) I don't have an issue, but the amount of signs and brochures is comical, thankfully so far only has knocked

I don't hold it against them, I'm still going to call them vultures, but I totally understand why they do it

You know what's a better idea? Spend the extra $15 and have someone else do the work and deal with the mess.

I think that... then I go to a quick lube place and the staff there is so dumb that they couldn't get clip for my air filter cover back on so the solution was to put a piece of scotch tape over it.

I know the air filter cover is annoying, but if you get the back seated properly, the front clips close easily.

Somebody should tell them that scotch tape is the solution to exactly zero car issues.
