the guy who hated recruiting, who basically could throw a stone outside his facility and hit a bluechip player.. Is now going to be a really good choice bringing in players to Purdue? Guess he has a hell of a schematic advantage over Brohm, aye?

Learn to read. Never said he'd have an advantage over Brohm, he'd be a solid replacement for Brohm.
 
Mullen bombed at Florida, but was a pretty good coach at Mississipppi State, the SEC equivalent of Purdue basically.
 
Isn’t Sumlin a Purdue alum?

This right here totally. Stability. I know teams go up and down now and then. But when you have no team in the Atlantic with less than 7 wins overall (except Boston College) and no less than 0.500 in conference (except Wake and BC), and the Coastal is sitting there and 4 teams are below 0.500 overall and 3 teams have a combined 6 wins in conference, that just sucks. I mean when did we ever think Duke would have over twice as many wins as UVA and VT... in FOOTBALL?
 
Jeff Brohm is going to win over a lot of high school locker rooms on the recruiting trail. He’s real with a legit blue-collar mentality. And his Kentucky high school football roots run deep. In state recruiting gonna swing drastically.

again, at MS he was a stone throw away from good to elite talent. It's nothing like Purdue

Yeah, he was able to get kids from KY to commit to Purdue.. (Ron Moore). He can recruit for sure and he can sell his offense.

I'm not saying Mullen is a bad coach because he isn't.. but he has his faults and there's nothing Purdue can offer him to cover those insufficiencies other than paying him 7m or more to come there.

It was really odd because he didn't "bomb" until the team and him both quit in 2021. Here was his record:

Record-wise, he was the best coach at Florida since Urban Meyer and had two top 10 finishes. 2021 was Dan Mullen's only bad season but he basically gave up and team quit on him so they had to fire him.

Him not recruiting at a level people wanted was the death of him.. he hated it and was able to cruise without so at MSU but at Florida with all eyes on 5 star players.. he couldn't

I get the vibe that Florida is just a stressful place to coach. I am surprised because when Florida is on with recruiting, they can out recruit and beat everyone in the SEC. Spurrier proved that. It isn't just Florida, it is a total surprise that the three great Florida programs have been down the last decade. I can see 2 of the 3 being down but all 3 is just an enigma.

just bad hires all around.. Book is still out on Cristobol.. Norvell seems to finally find his footing.. Lets see how Napier closes out this class
