Oregon has been the best team in the Pac12 for the past decade. Sure, they're not USC. But a team like Miami that's been in the dumps for two decades, has terrible facilities and a terrible fan base poaching a coach away from them was shocking. And it's not like 2021 was an anomaly. A&M hired Jimbo away from Florida State for god's sake -- a guy who won a national title there. Heck, even at a lower level MSU poached Mel Tucker in February away from Colorado after signing day and after he said he wasn't going anywhere. Again, this is the new normal.
I don't think recruits will think much about Harbaugh's open flirtation with the NFL.
