Jim Harbaugh gone to NFL

That Vandy defense allowed 35 first quarter points to UGA. Vandy received the opening kick.

But it doesn’t matter because Harbaugh is Day’s daddy
I don't think you can learn much from a single season at the worst SEC school.

He wasn't hired for anything he did at Vandy. He was hired because he worked with John Harbaugh at Baltimore with Mcdonald for a few years and was in the running last year for the position. I think the major idea with all of the moves was to keep things as similar to last year as possible. Hired another Baltimore guy that worked with Mcdonald to keep the defense the same, with the same language. Promoted staff already on staff for the OC position who were already involved in the game plan and play calling last year. For the open spot on offense, taking a off the field analyst (grant newsome) and promoting them to a staff position.

So he was hired just because he worked with the same people as the last guy? That seems like a reach/desperation hire to me.

Since Jim Harbaugh can’t pick coaches, he needs to poach coaches from his brother because John actually is good at finding talented coaches.

He was top 2 last year. He went to Vandy after we hired Mcdonald.

I'm pretty sure there was some controversy this year with the Michigan hockey team canceling games as well that came into question. Not a good look when the school was being accused of running from a football game

I'm going out on a limb and saying the UM hockey team, which has an embarrassment of riches, isn't cancelling games just because.
Remember when it was a big deal when OSU had the #2 and #3 pick in the NFL draft with Chase Young and Jeff Okudah. Michigan's hockey team had the #1 pick overall, to go along with the #2 pick, the #4 pick and the #5 pick. They all play for Michigan right now. They also had the #24 pick too.

I don't follow hockey much, but if they are cancelling games, my guess is, it has to do with guys on their team playing in the Olympics, coupled with Covid. Remember hockey only has 16 scholarships I think. If 1/3 of those players are at the Olympics -- it doesn't leave you much room to lose players.

T

They canceled against Western Michigan (the current #5 team) citing health and safety protocols but played the night before against Michigan tech. Not a good look no matter your excuse

The players have to test daily -- if you test positive, you are out. Not much you can do. Why did Ohio State cancel their game against Illinois in football last year? It is what it is. It happens with the ridiculous rules they have for Covid.

They canceled western michigan before they played Michigan tech and still played Michigan tech. It was a bad look

I don't know the logistics of when these games were played. If it was recently, like last week -- My guess is it was cancelled as the state of Michigan had snowmageddon and everything was shut down. I was stuck with my damn kid for 3 days last week. If it wasn't last week -- then i have no clue?

It was late December and they were playing short handed
An amusing exchange, thanks guys.

NPWD: But probably because of this...

FIB & 7S13: Yeah, no.

NPWD: But then probably because of this...

FIB & 7S13: Yeah, no. Not that either.

We will see I guess. Whoever they hired was going to have their work cutout for them replacing their 2 1st round pass rushers, top LB and Top DB. Hutchinson and Ojabo took a lot of stress off the rest of the defense being in the backfield what seems like was every fucking play.

Very true. I'm much more worried about replacing those guys, especially DT, than anything.

I think Dax Hill is a more significant loss than people may think too, he was kind of a swiss army knife in the secondary and could play anywhere they needed him to play. Will Johnson is almost certainly going to have to play and play well right away in a suspect secondary.

I don't think we're that bad off. The starting lineup will likely be something like this:
  • SS: Moten
  • FS: Moore
  • CB: Turner
  • CB: Gem. Green
All guys who were rotated in this year. The big loss is on the DL. We need to reproduce at least some of that pass rush. Offensively I'm a lot more hopeful going into this year than I was last. We return a ton of guys but also get Ronnie Bell back from injury.

Must be some weak o-lines in the B1G. Those two peckerwoods were non factors in the Orange Bowl and that was against one of the weaker o-lines UGA has had under Kirby

Yeah those soon to be first rounders were just going against weak competition...

Got bust written all over em. Either that or Jamaree Salyer will be the steal of the draft

They actually did pretty well on tape, problem was Georgia really took them out of the game with the scheme. Quick passes, double teams. 9ft tall TE's.

Brock Bowers ain’t that tall. Think he’s 6’4. But they were non factors. UGA had to change up their o-line against Bama to contain Will Anderson and Dallas Turner, but nothing special to contain the Michigan duo. And there were several deep passes too

Alabama also had much better people in the secondary, better LB's, better DT's...ect. UGA players were just flying wide open.

Well you do know more than all of those so called experts.
This is the same guy that said Smart was one of the worst coaches and needs to be fired immediately

Let Kirby handle the recruiting and let Hugh Freese coach the team, dynasty on a platter. Didn’t think you could underachieve and win a natty, but Kirby found a way.
