JUST GIVE US A CALL

One puzzling thing about Oregon, why haven't they expanded their stadium? Their fanbase seems dedicated enough to justify it. They have such a small stadium for being a stronger brand.

On the current landscape, Oregon would be 12th in the Big 10 on stadium capacity.

Michigan: 107,601
Penn St: 106,572
Ohio St: 104,944
UCLA: 90,888
Nebraska: 86,047
Wisconsin: 80,321
USC: 78,467
Michigan St: 75,005
Iowa: 70,585
Illinois: 60,670
Purdue: 57,236
Oregon: 54,000
Indiana: 52,929
Rutgers: 52,454
Maryland: 51,802
Minnesota: 50,805
Northwestern: 47,330

They will if they get B1G money. I read somewhere that UCLA Athletics run $30 million in the red each year in the PAC.

It isn’t just about historic success, it isn’t just about size of market. It’s about the future and what each program can offer.

Oregon has the branding. Oregon has the recent success. Oregon is one of the most watched college football teams in the country. The Ducks are like the golden goose for college football. It’s got Nike and the branding, kids in Florida, Georgia and Texas are wearing Duck gear because it’s the cool brand.

With Nike behind it, Oregon is not a school you leave just out there.

It’s more likely which conference, the SEC or B1G are willing to win the battle for Oregon.

Dude

They just got passed up for UCLA.

As @Thiefery pointed out, they missed the 2024 (2 yr) deadline, so at best they get a call for 2025.

WVU and Washington will both be available by then.

WVU gets the nod not only in winningest programs at #15, but also regionally.
Washington gets the nod on winningest programs at #18

Oregon is #35

UCLA: "Ring Ring. We'd like to join the Big 10"
B1G Front Office: "Let me patch you through to Kevin Warren"

Oregon: "Ring Ring. We'd like to join the Big 10"
B1G Front Office: "Click"

When Phil Knight dies and new management takes over the company you can expect a lot of that to start changing. It won't stay the same.

Someone needs to make a poll.

How many on tHoop only watch Oregon football for a chance to witness an OD meltdown?

And by someone, I mean someone else.
And don’t put potato salad as a choice as that would win.

honestly, i wouldn't even worry about it if they ask at least two more of Oregon/Udub/Stanford/Cal. At that point the PAC will dissolve or merge with the Big12

No wonder why @OregonDucks is so desperate begging about wanting called. Worried about being relegated to leftovers of the Big 12 or the Mountain West

Even so, it's not going into effect until 2025.

As you pointed out the 2024 window expired for PAC.

Oregon will get in. Calm your tits. You might need to wait a year or two if ND does Notre Dame things and drags this out, but it'll happen. Daddy Buckeye will eventually decree the end of revenue sharing anyways.

Oregon and Kansas State have similarities in that both don't have a great football history, both have small but rabid fanbases, and both had a strong run in recent history (Kansas State was more distance in that their run was late 1990s and early 2000s).
That's cool and all, but Oregon is Goliath compared to K-State financially, market, etc. K-State is little bro in their own state and KU hasn't done anything for a decade + in football.

Somehow I just don't see USC/UCLA just leaving without some more schools in tow.
It just doesn't feel right.

i don't think it matters for the rest.. the remaining schools aren't acting scorned like the orphans in the Big12 were. You don't see schools calling for the president to show up to the house of representatives in CA to grill them into why they are leaving.

Those Christian ethics your Mama pounded into your head are showing again.

Yeah -- I think they are waiting on Notre Dame to decide who else to pick up out of the PAC. Personally, I hope it is Oregon left hanging, because the meltdown from OD would be glorious.
