Older brothers can literally talk their younger brothers into anything.

I have an older brother (of 2 years) myself.

The only benefit to that was he took the brunt of any blame for nefarious shit because as mom and dad would say to him....

"You're older. You should have known better".

Also parents are typically more lenient with the younger siblings, because the older one's had already pulled what you just got caught doing, so it wasn't as much of a surprise to them.

We had a rule in my house that if you weren't working a job on Saturday/Sunday morning, you'd be at the breakfast table. No excuses.
I was 17 and grounded on a Friday night (for something) and my 15 year old sister came home drunk. I remember hearing her puking at like 1 am and mom and dad babying her with cold washcloths to the forehead. I was in bed in the next room, but could here them talking to her. "Poor thing", etc..
She was not at the breakfast table the next morning and I asked "Where's Kathy?"
My dad replied "Mind your own business"
I said "The rule is if we're not working in the morning we'd be at the breakfast table. If I'd done what Kathy did last night you'd been sure that I was at the breakfast table. What's the difference?"

My dad sternly replied "The difference is, I expected it out of you". LOL
