Keep it moist Tuesday

What pisses me off now a days is everyone has those white tablets that they flip over and ask you what percentage you want to tip!

FUCK that! I am not tipping you for reaching behind you and grabbing a already made bucket of popcorn or chicken!
then don't tip...it's that easy

I'd also add, in Minnesota tips by law have to go to servers which is why the restaurant has to specifically say it's not a tip, they otherwise wouldn't be able to use it as a pool to pay higher wages for back staff. I believe some restaurants actually use it as a pool for all employees as well. Restaurants have had to find new ways to get employees and pay them more, probably why most beers are now at least $8.....Oh, I miss my 5 dollar pitchers in college

Each restaurant does it a little different, which only adds to confusion

This was back in the 90's, but the one bar at PSU had $1.50 pitcher night (Miller Lite or similar). We'd get there early to secure a table and I'd get 4 pitchers since there was no way I was waiting in line once the place filled up. No cup/glass needed, just use the pitcher as a big mug.

For tasks that deserve a tip, I tip well, otherwise I tip fucking ZERO.

Me and my roommate singlehandedly changed $1 bottle night at one bar we went to after graduation. The usual crowd was buying Bud/Miller/Coors, we were drinking Sierra Nevada and Bass Ale, plus whatever else was like $8 a sixer. Cheaper to go to the bar than it was to get a sixer from the store. I think it took them about 3 months before they realized that they were losing money on us. They started charging more for the stuff we were ordering, it was still reasonable, probably $2 a beer.

I’m sure most of the workers being forced to do this feel just as awkward and intrusive.

They’re just Storm Troopers like any company man and woman is.

I don't... It still annoys me. I totally agree that wait staff need better pay but the restaurants themselves need to do it. If I am at a sit down restaurant I tip between 20-25%

Of course... But not for just turning around and giving me something

Not their fault... The pretty much forced to do it.

I will admit sometimes I do always tip regardless.. Especially is they are friendly and aren't a robot

Just bad planning not to split their beer options by price and offer the domestic mass produced shit for $1, everything else + some upcharge.

Cookie cutter software. It's probably more expensive to buy it without the tip option built in, so places just leave it on there.

You're somewhere around 40.

You're old. Them's the rules.

that falls under the "tasks that don't deserve a tip" category.

Some of them now make you choose "Other" just to tip 0.

Yeah the little sandwich shop right down the parking lot from me has the system like that. I will admit I do tip them since they are hard working

Oh, for sure. The first time we were there on one of those nights, I did a triple take when I got a Sierra for $1.
