Kirby Smart seriously needs to be fired

Herman was at least a hot commodity and he was the plan to begin with. Tennessee had no plan at all and I think they got their 9th choice and were desperate.
I think they had a plan, but they caved to pressure from then fanbase when the fanbase really didn't like their plan. I can't imagine not having a plan at all when Butch Jones is the HC. Josh Dobbs is a criminally underrated college QB.

If memory serves, Schiano was way down the list of coaches they wanted and then the SJW axed him.

You might be right, but IIRC, Schiano was announced fairly quickly after Butch Jones was fired.

I'll give him another season. Hopefully next season will be more normal, and Todd Monken will have a full offseason with the offense, but it's make the playoffs or bust for him as far as I'm concerned, and losing in heart breaking fashion to Bama in the SECCG again is an automatic firing.
I feel better already that you are willing to give him another season. Whew, I thought you were going to insist that he be fired. SMMFH.

Well Texas can proudly say that Strong didn't turn them down the way he turned down TN..

I like Smart, but seriously think that he's his won worst enemy, and I'm not saying that one call should get your fired, but that fake punt against us when we were in a normal defense and everyone and their mother noticed Justin Fields sitting back there where he usually shouldn't be, was just the most idiotic decision I think I've ever seen.

This that moment, I just don't know how any UGA fans can have trust in Kirby. Two of the three best QB's in the country are from the State of GA, yet you didn't get one (Lawrence), and chose Fromm over the other (Fields), and still at this moment, I would say the QB is clearly UGA's biggest weakness.

Now, before people start saying that Fromm was good, yes, he was, but he got just a little worse year after year and yet Kirby didn't have the balls to play the #1 recruit in the Nation at QB at his normal position (and not fake punt runner or maybe passer, whatever the hell that play was).

When Kirby loses, he accepts it and tries to move on, which sounds like a plan. But what separates Saban from coaches like Kirby, is when we are losing, Saban is doing everything in his damn power to change momentum, and think outside the box to at least get ourselves a fighting shot at winning. He pulled the SEC PoY in the Natty for a Freshman because we needed something different, needed a spark, and Saban said 'Fuck it, we may lose, but we are going to try something different', and I don't think Kirby has that kind of mentality and so I can understand why UGA fans like @Illustrious Potentate are so damn tired of Kirby already.

Kirby needs to find his VY like Mack did (which he stumbled into, thank goodness for Tim Brewster).

How many bed shittings against Bama is it gonna take, and I took great pride in never having lost to a Todd Grantham defense, and that's gone now. Next year the offense had better take a big step forward.

I don't mind the decision to go for it on 4th down in that spot, Bama was gonna score regardless, but we got the ball back with a chance to tie it back up. But I hated the fake punt decision. Just line up and go for it.

Oh, so you are really serious? I was for sure this was just a troll post.

We're not ... he's a small minority of fans. I'll address your points later if I get the time, but the large majority of Dawg fans are behind CKS.

Sure, go for it, but you're right, if the defense clearly knows your are faking it and are lined up in a normal defense, pointing at your damn QB that is 'hiding' on the field, then call a timeout, reset, and fucking line it up. If it wasn't against Alabama, I would have been more frustrated for you guys (I do have two sisters that are UGA alums).

He's not the only one. More and more of my UGA buddies are saying very similar things to what @Illustrious Potentate is.

Do I seriously think he needs to be fired right now? No

Am I pissed that Justin Fields is dominating at Ohio State while Jake Fromm was a 5th round pick? Yes

Am I frustrated with the progression of the program since 2017? Absolutely

Do I think the offense needs a major overhaul? You're damn right

I'm not satisfied with anything I've seen since the first half of the 2017 NCG.

Maybe, but I am meeting more and more that are getting fed up.

Well, the next year's SEC Championship Game you were also beating the shit out of us in the first half, but I get your point.
The 2018 SECCG falls into the category of "anything since the first half of the 2017 NCG"

I interact with a die hard GA fan through FB.. great guy and he is like the propaganda machine for them.. but he's done with Kirby after the FL loss.. it's been a slow workup ever since the KY win. He knows the change won't come this season, but he believes if he doesn't get to the CCG game next year, he's done.

Like I said, a small minority. Unless you are meeting with tens of thousands of people more and more. I am not trying to be a smartass, but just because you run into a few people here and there doesn't counter the large fanbase that realizes how far ahead of where we were under Richt. Seriously ... there are 132 college teams. How many fanbases would rather have their past 5 years over ours? 5? CU, UA, OU, tOSU, LSU? Who else? CKS isn't perfect, obviously. He's a first time HC in his 5th year. He's not going anywhere any time soon.

One person. I assure you our fanbase, in general, isn't that dumb.
