A more compelling, less tropes-y movie. An exploration of the brotherhood and horrors of that war told in a more engaging way.

Recent war films I’ve liked better:
Mosul
The Bombardment
The Forgotten Battle

That really doesn't explain anything.
You do realize this isn't a new concept or story, right? It's based on a book written in the 1920s and there is a movie from the 30s already? It's one of the original modern day "war is hell" stories. And any remakes would do well to recreate that feeling of constant dread and pay homage to the original script/storyline. I thought the film did a fantastic job of that.

IDC if you like the movie or not. Your reasoning that it's an old trope, when its the archetype (particularly for War's effect on soldiers) is comical.

But, again, I don't care. Your opinion of the film is in the vast minority. I'll stick with my 9/10 rating.

Very few jokes that land. The plot is thin and weak, and gets resolved suddenly and without much heart . Marky Mark is fine, but barely logs any minutes. It also feels like this movie has been made before.

I love teen movies, but this one is weak. The motivations of the characters keep changing. The resolution is easy and cliche. Plus crappy 90s music.

Ive watched 2/3 of this abomination of a movie......only reason I will watch the rest is because of Margot Robbie,other than that,I wouldnt watch it.
 
Black Phone - not bad, but felt a little unorganized. 6.
Black Adam - 4. It sucks
Bullet Train - some funny parts. 6.
Nope - interesting take on UFOs, but it loses it a bit. 5 or 6.
The Fall - had potential, got dumb. 5... maybe 5 and a half.
The Watcher - series on Netflix... dumb. The characters, the overall story, the decisions, all dumb. The daughter is unreal and arguably the worst character. Based on true events, but I read about it and it seems like they really took a lot of liberties here. The real story didn't come off as nearly nefarious. Won't ranked it
