I’m still curious.
Are you an employee at a theatre

Ferrari. Was ok, but boring. Adam Driver was fine, as was Penelope Cruz, but the story was pretty boring, basically a few week period in 1957 when Ferrari almost went bankrupt. With his personal history and that of the company and it's racing, it should have been so much better.

Star Trek: Section 31
Paramount+

It is full of plot holes and horrible SciFi oversights that make it hard to follow without constant eye rolls. Serious timeframe issues when you look at when this is supposed to take place compared to the rest of the St universe timeframe also took me out of the story trying to figure out how “X” could even be a part of the show.

But this has been panned mercilessly, and it isn’t THAT bad. Understanding that this isn’t actually a part of the Prime Star Trek timeline (Lower Decks removed all of NuTrek from the Prime timeline) allowed me judge this in a completely different eye.

Bad, but not as bad as people tell you.

3/10

I mostly download stuff. I am on my second month of AMC Stubbs A-list (3 movies a week) for $23 a month, but downloading is still more convenient. I thought about seeing September 5 before the eagles game on Sunday, but it was a bit cold in the morning. Shit was available to d/l later that day anyway. I'll probably reserve a ticket for it since I don't plan on seeing 3 movies this week.

I was really looking forward to a film/show about Section 31, considering of of the stories in TNG, DS9 etc, I love ST but his was complete crap, a bad, straight to video movie that they just slapped the ST logo on.

Speak no Evil with James McAvoy.....been waiting awhile to see this.....looked to be a very good movie.

It was very slow until 3/4s of the movie was over.....then the last 1/4 of the movie kept me more interested in it.

But I thought it could have been better......7 of 10.

Companion (2025) 8/10

Really enjoyed this on the big screen. Good casting, tight run time, had some cool directing choices. Jack Quaid and Sofie Thatcher were good leads. Felt refreshing, the story was interesting, and it explored some existential questions. I would recommend if you liked Ex Machina or sci-fi thrillers.

Love the convenience of streaming, but the big screen experience cannot be beat!

Companion 6/10
Cool idea, and appropriate for our times. Skips over the consciousness question, but it considers the freedom question. Characters were well-crafted. Just a bit lightweight. But still recommend.

Heart Eyes
4/10
It tried to be scream, but it didn’t set the right tone. It was more tween than teen at times. It didn’t get the scary right. But it did end well, and it had genuine funny parts. It’s like they had lots of little good ideas, but needed to work on the script a lot. The big problem is that the main actress is completely uncharming.

Highlander - It's been a long while since I saw it. It was better than I remembered...till near the end when Conner Macleod's woman spent 10 minutes of the show screaming. Still 7/10. Good story.

The Gorge 4/10

The good - Teller & Joy’s charismatic acting. There are some scenes that will make you laugh, sometimes unintentionally. Unique story in some ways.

The bad - Made by Apple, who rarely seem to make good tv or movies. Movie seems AI generated in certain parts. It is a mishmash of genre's but doesn't excel at any of them.

It’s frustrating because it seems like this movie tries with some parts but half-asses others. Feels like a good movie was just in reach but they couldnt produce a complete finished product.

To Catch A Killer - Netflix
8/10

Going in, I figure I'm about to see a cheesy crime drama. I couldn't have been more wrong. I didn't expect to see so many graphic kill shots. The last 2/3rd of the movie was very intense.

The Monkey was a fun one.

Apple doesn't make good TV shows?

Wild take.

Most of their stuff is crap imo

I'll accept Masters of the Air, Presumed Innocent, Bad Monkey.. but that's really it

Inb4: Ted Lasso or Severance 🌈🌈🌈

Elevation

Three years after murder bugs come up from a sinkhole, a group of ppl led by Anthony Mackie are on a mission to fight back. Sound Irish ruin, blocking, dialog… all amateurish. Characters are flat. Actors unmotivated. Truly terrible. Even the science stuff they’re trying to do is laughable. That movie with with Megan Fox and the lions was better.

Last Breath was solid.

I'm on an hour intermission at the restaurant next store before Cleaner, which I'm no longer going to bother to attend. I thought it was the latest Statham one (that doesnt come out until next month)

Makes more sense why every showtime since it's release has been 2000 and 2200.

I'm not trying to get home at 0 dark 30 for any less than a dumb Statham flick.

Mickey 17 was decent enough

In the Land of the Lost was no Bueno

Let's see if The Rule of Jenny Pen can bring it home (have the whole theater to myself, they should give me a controller if I want to pause).

Micky 17

7.5 - unhinged fun
