I interpret it as a realistically affordable house, for your current income, and you can vacation as much as you want, but you live there like you do in whatever you live in now. You have two places, that you can afford, and have them right now, ok. If not, no money can be spent on any housing for more than 2 weeks.

I guess you would have money to travel more, which means all your previous rent/mortgage could make for lots of plane tickets, and over water bunghole'Os.

Smitty - as for #5. I took it as you get a brand new home, but still have to be able to afford it. If it was whatever I wanted and no mortgage, I would definitely take that, but #2 hinted to me that you would still have to be able to pay for it.

A lot would hinge on the “never move” part as well.

I’m not certain I’d want to move from the house I’m in. But I’m open to Air BnBin’ this fucker part of the year.

“New” house might not even be out of ear shot from this one. But it’d be 100% off grid, with a private beach and next to no neighbors aside from whoever wants to pay me to sit on this couch I’m on right now.
Property taxes are unbelievably low here. With no utilities or additional mortgage I’m not worried about getting jipped on it being something I can afford. Especially with income from other people using my toilet.

Really don’t want to be so old I’m opting for free healthcare here. Little disappointed in myself for it being my fallback. But alcohol and weed aren’t going to count under groceries, my mortgage isn’t a bother, don’t want to wish I was overseas all the time and I effectively stopped flying domestically over a decade ago. Luxury car isn’t something I want (pointless, the roads are mostly dirt). No fucking medical bills really stands out unless I get some serious riders on this new house I can’t move from.

This thread plowed forward more than I’d imagined.

Continent sized houses hadn’t been something I’d considered.

You’d need a couple Mexico’s worth of roofers to even be able to get permits for the four Mexico’s worth of hangers to get busy.

Any luxury vehicle is trash in 10 to 15 years. Your maintenance costs would be absurd. Part become obsolete eventually. How long you gonna live? Take you luxury off road idea and go grab you one of those range rovers that is total dogshit after 75k miles. No one on earth but their dealerships will even work on them. Fuck that nonsense. That's teenager candy.
