Lincoln Riley to USC

But this is why I never fault players for entering the transfer portal and why I always thought sitting out a season was bullshit. The coach can pretty well lie to them to their face and jump ship and screw over a lot of people in the process.

A coach can leave a program then the program and current players on the team get punished after a cheating scandal was discovered years after the fact with the coach responsible gets off scot free

lol

And if his team has a down year or 2, these same folks would be calling for his head.
Egg-actly! The way some of them here have been whining about Riley all season, I would have thought they would be glad to be rid of him! :noidea:

Just NO pleasing some people, I guess... :rolleyes2: :heh:

It’s gonna be interesting to see how Riley handles a team that isn’t already in great shape when he takes over. Stoops retired when OU was already a contender, Riley just needed to not fuck it up. I just don’t think he’s the right guy to build a program and change the culture. USC is a lot like Tennessee, the recruiting classes have been pretty good, but the culture is just shitty and soft, and Riley is soft too.

I’m saying he’s gonna get 4 years, but people are gonna want him gone after 3

It's the same at every school.

Look at USC, from everything I've ever heard...the players loved Clay Helton. Were USC fans that were calling for his head concerned about how the "kids" felt? You can bet that if he was a successful coach and wanted to leave, people would be saying "but what about the kids?"

Fuck that piece of shit.

Fuck that piece of shit.

I hope he gets a dose of the clap from a Hollywood Boulevard hooker. Fuck that piece of shit.

Fuck that piece of shit.
I don't think we're making any progress here.

Riley's career trajectory at USC will be something like this:

Year 1 "Wow! We know you're doing your best, Lincoln. But we must have been down a little more than we thought when you took over".

Year 2 "It still ain't workin', Riley. What's the deal?"

Year 3 "WTF. We lost to Oregon again and dropped that stinker a couple of weeks ago? And we're behind 17 points at halftime this evening?"

Year 4 "GTFO"

Oh yeah, I get that and agree 1000%!

I just find it amusing how some of those that are NOW trying to "dig up all the dirt they can find on him" sure weren't wanting that stuff to come out when he was STILL there. :heh:

Sports politics is just as sleazy as the regular politics.

So pretty much the same as at Oklahoma.

did it though?
I mean, so you believe that the PAC is as strong of a conference as the SEC? I don’t know if I believe that they have two programs that can run with Alabama and Georgia.

where did i say that?

He said the path to the playoff got easier. You asked “did it though?” Someone with a normally functioning brain would assume you are questioning it. All signs are pointing to OU and Texas going to the SEC next year.
So either, the path to the playoffs is easier in the SEC or the PAC.
