LOL ... Hugh Freeze just found out that Smart got to the natty in year 2

One good player. MI has manhandled the Buckeyes the last 2 seasons because they are soft up front.

They cant get 1 yard. They couldnt last year. Anyone with their head not up BigNuts arse can see that.

Day prayed and got lucky they only had 10.
"One good player" then how'd they beat michigan?

"They can't get one yard" they literally got the most crucial one yard of the season after an incredible last second drive.

"Day prayed" so then Freeman prayed and Emeka dropped that TD?

Must suck to be a fan of one of the most successful CFB programs of the century but still seek out and find ways to be miserable.

He hasn't been at Michigan in 3 years. Sherrone Moore has been the OL coach the last couple years. I thought maybe Moore came from OSU.
I think he brought the toughness back to the Oline. He did the same at tOSU when Meyer was there.

Kenneth Walker III 27 Yd Run (Matt Coghlin Kick)
Kenneth Walker III 8 Yd Run (Matt Coghlin Kick)
Kenneth Walker III 1 Yd Run
Kenneth Walker III 58 Yd Run
Kenneth Walker III 23 Yd Run

They got that 1 yard with a missing DE.

You are the only one who seems miserable. Head too far up BigNuts arse.

Just so we're clear - Walker ran for 197 yards on 23 carries for 5 TDs against michigan (MSU tough?), and only 25 yards on 6 carries vs us (MSU not tough?), but that doesn't count. Gotcha.

ND has 10 men on the field because Freeman made a major coaching mistake - "Day said a prayer"
OSU runs a stupid play on 4th and 1 because Day made a poor playcalling decision - "OSU isn't tough"

My guy, literally nothing I've said is miserable. Go through the entire thread. Me calling you out for being eternally pessimistic after a dramatic road win vs. a top 10 team is valid.

You have no ability to be objective. I bet you kick the dog after a Buckeye loss. Miserable.

Just to put it out there. Walker single handedly beat UM and is the person responsible for Tucker getting that massive extension. Living in Michigan and being friends with many MSU fans -- I can tell you they all say without Walker -- the 11 win season doesn't happen and the huge contract for Tucker doesn't happen.

OSU got out to a huge lead -- I think they were up 6 or 7 tds in the 1st half. I don't even think they played Walker in the 2nd half, the game was so out of hand.

Oh you're definitely right. It just goes against the narrative that we're so weak in the trenches that Walker decimated michigan while not doing anything against us. We did get going quick in that game, but it wasn't like we scored, they turned it over, we scored, they turned it over, we scored. Walker didn't do anything against us, and he was definitely an elite RB. That wasn't a knock on michigan, he is definitely that good.

This is going to be the key to the game IMO. Our sack numbers aren't gaudy, but our pass defense efficiency is among the nation's best because not only are our DBs are much better this year, but OSU also leads the nation in QB pressure rate generated. That'd lead you to think the sack numbers should increase, and if they can keep this up, they're definitely going to be a legit NC contender this year. Compared to last year when they were giving up big pass and run plays all year long, they've done a great job limiting them so far.

We'll see if this is still the case by late November. Barring something unforeseen, I think this year's game should be much closer than the last two years.
Again -- I don't put much into the numbers or where teams are ranked right now, as teams are trying to get guys snaps in glorified scrimmages in OOC.

Watching the game against ND -- I liked how OSU looked against ND pass offense and I was hoping to see breakdowns. (for Michigan's sake) I liked seeing ND being able to run the ball like they did and how ND held OSU to 0 sacks and only 2 TFL's in the game. (obviously for Michigan's sake)

That's why my opinion for the UM/OSU game hasn't changed much. I think UM's experience and talent in areas where OSU isn't that strong will be the difference. I think OSU will have to go to the same game plan as last year and bring the LB's to try and stop the run, leaving big spots open in the secondary.

I will say this. IF Blake Corum goes down again. Then my opinion would change, as he is light years better at running the ball than Donovan Edwards. Edwards is the home run hitter, but Corum is a guy who always gets upfield, finds the hole and makes guys miss. If OSU's secondary is improved and we don't have Corum -- I would go with OSU over Michigan.

Walker is a guy who had a never ending motor. Michigan shut him down early. He ABSOLUTELY TORCHED US in the 2nd half. It is painful to even think about that game.

That being said -- Ohio State took him completely out of the game by scoring a touchdown on all 7 first half possessions. They forced MSU into a passing team, which they weren't and absolutely pummeled them. I remember watching that game and dreading to watch the UM/OSU game that year because of your offense.

Look at that offense. Stroud (tearing up the NFL), Olave (tearing up the NFL), Wilson (tearing up the NFL), Harrison Jr. (could be the #1 pick). I'd love to have ONE of those WR's. You guys have a full WR room of them.

Oddly enough, this is the year I would disagree that we have to do that. We're very stout on the interior of our DL, and Eichenberg/Chambers are stout enough against the run to not have to blitz. Ransom looks greatly improved, and we also now have Sonny Styles playing the LB/S hybrid role with elite size and speed. Another big change (so far) from last year was the fact our defensive backfield was so banged up. Hancock was out, Ransom was playing with a broken hand, Styles wasn't playing and we didn't have Igbinosun. Of course they actually have to stay healthy between now and November but we're hopefully going to be in a MUCH better spot than last year.

I remember watching that game too. I was terrified to play them after seeing what Mo Ibrahim did to us earlier in the year. When we went up 14-0 I fully expected them to use him to start slowing the game down, then they missed the FG and he hardly played at all after.

Yeah it sucks looking at the offenses we wasted by having such horrific defenses. Hafley never should have left after 2019, as it's looking like he's probably gonna get canned at BC. Someone is going to bring him on as a DC and not be upset about it. I could understand why we struggled last year in Knowles' first year but shit, that 2021 defense was just disgustingly bad.

They just gave up over 5 yards per carry and 180 yards to ND, who don't have the RB's Michigan does, nor the continuity of the OL that Michigan does. So I hope you are right and they don't blitz, because that would give Michigan a big advantage.

I'm 1000% of the WR room at OSU. It is crazy the talent they have, not just in 2021, 2022, but almost every year in the last decade.

Obsessed? Yet you are still talking about something from 8 years ago? Who is obsessed?

Simple fact is -- the ENTIRE WORLD knows OSU struggles against top teams who play physical. Go look at every game OSU has lost in Ryan Day's tenure and you will see the EXACT SAME THING.

And Ryan Day looked like an idiot in the post game interview, just like I said Harbaugh looked like an idiot with his recruiting antics when he first got to UM. Don't confuse me with homer fans, like yourself, I have ZERO ISSUE calling out my team or my coach when it is deserved.

As was pointed out in the other thread

If Ryan Day qualified he'd have the highest winning pct in cfb history.

There is no question Michigan had his number the last 2 years. And I do think part of that is on his lack of energy around that game specifically...whereas Urban and Jim made it their year. Then Urbz would fuck around and lose to Iowa by 25.

At least Day didn't intentionally duck a Michigan game. That would have been embarrassing
