Looks like Brent Key for Georgia Tech HC

Sure. Right now Georgia is besting the options. That won't last forever. The Sun doesn't shine on the same dog's ass everyday.

When Kirby Smart starts making decisions and becomes Kirby "Not So Smart". You act like that shit won't ever happen again.
I've been following college football for 55 years. I am fully aware that it is cyclical. I am also fully aware that it isn't cyclical for certain schools that don't make it a priority. So, no, I am not acting like "shit won't happen again."

So, if Ga Tech will:

- commit at least a half a billion dollars to their facilities
- talk their leadership and academicians into adjusting their academic rigor to get better players, but worse students
- somehow figure out how to get the B1G or the SEC to accept them in their conference

Then maybe, just maybe, they will be able to compete for NCs.

FWIW, you really don't have to lecture Dawg fans about the fact that it is cyclical and the cycle can take a long time to turn. We are fully aware of this phenomenon.

I never said I was a Duke graduate. Just like you never said you were a Georgia graduate. What the fuck does that matter? I guess they didn't teach "Reasoning" at Vanderbilt.

Stanford was able to have success as an academic school. So did Northwestern until just this year. In football. Duke won an ACC Championship under Spurrier. How much winning by other teams does it take? Again, it can be done at GT.
I presumed you were a Duke grad based on your fandom you have listed. Your statement with regard to 4 NCs was stupid, so I figured a Dook grad would be smarter than that. So this makes a little more sense.

They actually do teach reasoning at Vanderbilt, and especially in law school at UGA. My reasoning was sound based on your statements.

None of Stanford, NW, Vandy, Duke, Ga Tech, etc. have come close to sniffing a NC in CFB since the BCS. There are obvious reasons for that. In the context of our discussion what matters is NCs, not conference champs or occasional good years. I agree they can all have those, albeit rarely.

- we have no money.

- that will NEVER happen

- SEC - LOL. B1G we have discussed this. Long shot at best at this point in time.

UNC skated on that too didn’t they?
Of course they did. EVERY Coach. Every single coach from Dean Smith on, knew of the no show classes, and did nothing about it. Instead, they put a legal team together to take the academic hit but saved their national titles from being erased. The NCAA has no teeth. And UNC has a shitty university. But they have those banners. Cheating sons of bitches.

Georgia Tech dropped the ball on this. Badly.

Fritz. He could have brought Tech back to contending for ACC championship game appearances.
He wouldn't sign on the dotted line because his asks were too much and unacceptable. At some point we have to draw a line and just say no. That's on Fritz more than Tech. His demands just weren't feasible.

Besides, there is no reason to believe Key can't thrive. He loves the school and they players would do anything for him. He's already cleaned house on the offense on day 1 and will be hiring several coaches in the coming weeks. This guy has more than his pocketbook at stake here, this is HIS school and he is determined to see it succeed.

If he can squeeze 4 wins out of what was handed to him to work with, he will do fine and will be in for the long haul.

Hope you're right.
