You shut your damned mouth!LL Bean slippers are for the poors.
Yes I read that article. While I would agree that the Stones are blues based, calling them a cover band is petty (no pun intended due to the morning thread). I think he is just attempting to generate publicity for his book.@ThePeoplesChicken
Not sure if you've heard about it, but in an interview for The New Yorker, Paul McCartney said, "I’m not sure I should say it, but they’re [The Rolling Stones] a blues cover band, that’s sort of what the Stones are.” He did go on to say, "I think our [The Beatles] net was cast a bit wider than theirs.”
While I agree that The Beatles covered a broader range of musical styles than The Rolling Stones, I think that calling The Stones a "blues cover band" is absolutely fucking ridiculous.
McCartney is easily my favorite Beatle, but at this point, he's lost his fucking mind and needs to keep his mouth shut. Between this, the "John/Yoko broke up The Beatles" bit and his collaboration with Kim Kardashian's husband, it's clear that dementia is well set.
What are you talking aboot?Fixed for our Canadian friends. I got your back, pnk
I tried to watch that. I can't get past Rick RubinYou seen the miniseries "McCartney 3, 2, 1" on Hulu? It's mainly about the Beatles and the creative process in making their songs. Just him and producer Rick Rubin. It's goo and apolitical. Paul is still sharp.
LSD and the drawing. It's a natural.I take it back a little, he did speak favorably of the Beach Boys and especially Brian Wilson's songs on "Pet Sounds". That's where they got the inspiration for "Sgt. Pepper". The name of that album was prompted by a pepper shaker.
McCartney also said that "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" was based on a drawing made by John Lennon's 3-year-old son, Juliann. Though I don't remember him denying that LSD played a role in some of the songs.
