Michigan opens up the NIL money cannon

It seems like a potential violation to have the school be directly involved with getting players paid by boosters this overtly.
It may be but who cares? Seems the B1G would have to enforce it because the NCAA is.................

Jim Harbaugh could do a TikTok of handing a recruit $250k and the B1G wouldn’t do shit. If a quarter fell out of Brohm’s pocket and a week later a recruit finds it and Purdue would be sanctioned for a decade.

As I understand it, schools can help facilitate the process they just can't be directly involved in the deal. The big thing here is opening it up to the public in general vs. select organizations or businesses.

They ain't counting all those rich veterinarians. If they did A&M would be at the top of the list.
It's our accountants that we love so much. Arthur Anderson may not exist anymore, but the knowledge its employees had sure does :suds:

As I understand it, depends on the state law. If not state law, there is nothing against it. Most states that have a state law are asking their legislatures to change said law to allow the schools to have a more direct impact on this. You can thank ATM for this!
lol Texas doesn't let HighSchool students get NIL deals til they are in college.. which is why Ewers left early (think if they did he would have played his Sr season, then flip back to UT by NSD1)
damn right. We figure out how best to push the limits and exploit it for personal gain (hopefully)
I don't get it.. y'all are doing what they (UGA/Bama/TN/LSU) did, but now that y'all are blowing them out the water with the '22 class they gotta change state laws? Jesus, SEC schools really are shook that they are gonna trail in the long run if they don't do something to counterattack bags under the table being labeled as NIL?
So we can expect A&M to cure cancer soon?
i wouldn't hold my breath.. they are still working on a covid vaccine

yup, that was the best part of Jimbo's rant. "it was all good and fine when Saban was bragging about his QB getting $800k" but as soon as a recruit they really want picks A&M then NIL is the devil.

I assume the crying by Tech about not getting as much oil money is going to intensify once again.

Even if rules really are "schools can't pay".

I kinda feel bad for Tech because they actually have some wealthy boosters that love sports but man.. Lubbock is a TOUGH sell

"hey, do you want to go to school in a place it takes half a day to drive to and airfare is sky-high if there is anything of note going on in Lubbock? Do you like being able to look in any direction and see the curvature of the earth? Do you love the smell of farm shit? Then Tech is the place for you"

And yeah they have a hell of an alumni network. I still hate em all though.

I remember Rob Babers telling a story on his radio show about Tech.. they flew him in late in the evening and had him stroll the the town at night. In the morning they wouldn't let him leave Campus, and they flew him out at night too. They didn't want him to see the town during the day lol. He dropped them from his list after that trip lol

And then they went and fired the only guy to make TTU relevant because the hooker killer got his feelings hurt over junior.
