CFB is the wild, wild west, with massive NIL deals and a free for all in the transfer portal. What is Michigan doing? Not accepting some credit transfers FROM STANFORD!!!!!

For fuck's sake -- would they leave the football program alone.

It really is absurd. Bio credits from Stanford? LOL.

My youngest graduated from UNC in 3 years. He started at LMU in LA, and when he transferred after a year and a half UNC wasn't going to take about half his hours. He went through an appeal process and got them all. Here he was able to take a semester of credits from a local community college, and some summer classes at another community college, but not from a top 60 university. UNC has a similar arrogance about the value of their education.

My buddy basically got a 50K check to get a MBA at Michigan. Via GI bill and yellow ribbon program he was already fully covered. Got a 50K check he jsut threw into the stock market.

It is absolutely absurd. The amount of players Michigan has lost out on because of the admission standards is crazy. Xavier Worthy is at Texas because of our administration, yet Texas takes him the next week. Our basketball team lost out on the top guy in the portal because of our administration, yet Illinois takes him the next week.

Our archaic views of our admins, where they actually think they are better than everyone only hurts the athletic programs. Imagine -- Texas and Illinois are near the top of academic programs, Stanford is at the very top, yet Michigan turns down what those schools are fine with. Makes NO SENSE AT ALL.

Yup. Kids who transfer in, who don't specifically plan it out before hand -- IE attend a community college and verify that course transfer over -- lose a ton of credits. UM is notorious about transfer credits and it really sucks for things like football transfers.

Plus your football team was doing those lame tributes to Harbaugh even thought it was your own program that suspended. Just nothing good going on there it would seem.

Seems to me the recruiting staff would check that out before putting effort into getting the guy to transfer.
This. It’s funny on so many levels. From Stanford credits not being good enough to how would you not check that from the start.

Ironic given UNC's history of awarding credits for fake classes

The conference as a whole is very out of touch academically and behind in the time. Well, except Michigan State.

Have a pulse? That's a credit

I mean, Michigan has a history of hiring parents of recruits and potential transfers in order to get them to go to school there. That’s very progressive.

Yet the academic side hasn't accepted that

If your football players are held to the same academic standards as non talented students(being a nerd with no real skills isn’t a talent), you’re never gonna truly compete for a natty.

That’s a good way to get stripped of blue blood status IMO. Being stuck in 1905 and all

Sorry, but football talent is not on the admission application.
