The outcome isn't the same at all, at least not yet. Your scenario would be the same thing if Moore knew in early December that he was going to take over as HC so he could have time to assemble his staff, like Day did. That's my point.
Again, I'm not assigning blame anywhere, I'm not sure why you keep coming back to that. Day also had to bring in a few guys for his staff, but he had weeks to do so which is why his transition was smooth. With Harbaugh taking arguably michigan's two most important coaches with him to the Chargers, that's going to hurt.
Again, the transition is different because Michigan was playing meaningful football until almost mid-January. The outcome(hiring an OC) is the same thing. If Harbaugh was going to leave, Moore was always the next in line. Even Harbaugh wanted that.
My point is that the transition won't be as smooth because of the factors(timing, assistant coaches having better option etc.) You're acting as though he failed retaining these assistants which is disingenuous IMO. Anybody would leave the DC at Michigan to become a DC in the NFL, it's what the last DC at Michigan did as well. That's what happens when you bring in NFL guys to college. I agree him losing those guys is going to hurt, but it was out of Moore's control.
