Michigan’s Sherone Moore to be named head coach

So you continue to duck the question of why michigan had to cheat.
Nothing to duck. Michigan put that to bed when we beat you without Stallion, without a LB coach and WITHOUT A HEAD COACH. Hell -- the year before that -- we beat you without the B1G offensive player of the year AND the B1G defensive lineman of the year.

Signed,
THE National Champion and Back to Back to Back B1G Champion Michigan Wolverines

Scam Webb is reporting that Harbaugh is trying to take Steve Clinkscale and Mike Elston with him as well.

I know these are 2 guys remaining on the defensive staff that dUMb fans take is really high regard.

Is Harbaugh just gutting the Michigan staff out of spite at this point? Sure seems like it if these 2 happen.

Either that or Harbaugh can't get any NFL types to sign on with him so he's just latching on to whoever he can from Michigan.

lol

NOW Can we say that Harbaugh is raiding the staff? @MAIZEandBLUE09 @NewPhoneWhoDis
It's his staff? The only actually surprising one was Herbert, not because Harbaugh brought him to the NFL but that he wanted to be a strength coach in the NFL....where those kind of coaches are relatively useless. But by the sound of it, Jim is bumping his title to an assistant coach or something.

The offensive staff is actually in quite good shape, it's really the DC position that will be critical here. Sounds like Moore is really going after the Baltimore lineage to try and keep the scheme going. From the "insiders" we're going after joe cullen, which would be a solid hire. Sounds like Wink Martindale is also in consideration; which I'm not as thrilled with mostly because of his age and my Don Brown PTSD. But again, he's one of the inventors of the Baltimore scheme, so we're leaning hard into that.

And our 2024 class is mostly settled where it is. But the problem with going after NFL guys is that they really have to hit the ground fast to catch up with college coaches in recruiting.

I wouldn't say a S&C coach is useless in the NFL just their roles switch more from actually building muscle in college to managing injury in the NFL.

Not sure you can place 100% of the blame on Harbaugh here. I'm sure the desire to get the coaches that have left to the NFL wasn't one sided. If they were good coaches and asked Harbaugh to come with him, is he really expected to say no?

I don't blame harbaugh really. It's his staff. He built the staff. Some of these guys have been with him for like 6+ years. Some were clearly destined for the NFL and we were just borrowing them (Minter/McDonald prior).

Strength coaches are really nothing in the NFL. All the important players have personal trainers. College S&C staff are one of the few positions where they get paid more in college than the NFL. I can name a few different S&C coaches around the country, can't name a single one in the NFL before Herbert left.

I'm just in a mode where I'm waiting to see how it all figured out when the dust settles. These aren't the only good coaches in the world. Replace good coaches with good coaches, THAT is the important thing here. And it's how we won a national title. We thought the world was ending when we lost McDonald and hired Minter to replace him.

It's almost a lucky of the draw with coaches. There are very few sure fire guys. It's almost impossible to know how a guy who has never overseen actual play calling, whether it be as a HC or coordinator, is going to do even if he was really good at his job prior.

Cheating doesnt end, nor the benefits of years of cheating when the cheaters say "look we clean now"...

Hmmmm -- so you are saying the last title won by OAM is 1970. Got it.

As far as THE Michigan Wolverines -- we are THE REIGNING national champion and NOT one, NOT two, but THREE TIME DEFENDING B1G Champs.

LOL the natives are not pleased

Huh?

I think the problem here is that both of those guys probably want to eventually be DC's. And if Moore is looking elsewhere for a DC, the probably feel like a decent upgrade is going and joining an NFL staff. Not sure if Clink will go but I understand it.

These two were a couple of our primary recruiters, so I think it hurts more on the recruiting front or retention of current players than anything else.
