Mid point awards and second half predictions

I just hate what the Rangers are doing. Staying 2 games below .500, trying to give fans hope we might be a wildcard team this year, likely making us non-sellers at the deadline...and then getting swept by the damn orioles.
that's how the Phillies were before firing Girardi. They seem to be doing much better now but still need another piece, esp with Harper out.

I think Rangers fans should be pleased. Didn’t this team lose over 100 games last year? I don’t think anyone expected them to be a real playoff contender this year, but they’ve made a big step in the right direction and should be contending next season, and the Orioles aren’t the pushover they’ve been the last few years this year
I'm thrilled we are winning more games, but want us to have another fire sale for anyone over the age of 30 or on a contract expiring this or next season. we could have one of the top arms available at the deadline, sure don't want to see us pass up a package because we are close to being a 1 and done WC team.

Expiring contracts should be trade for sure, but they should keep anyone they think can help them win next year. The team has some 2017 Braves vibes, close to contending, but need another year to truly contend

Plus they have a good farm. Josh Jung could be up soon.

Makes the 2021 Red Sox season that much better. Overachieved, nearly made the World Series all while the farm system has been rapidly improving. They're in a position to return to the playoffs and there's a plethora of arms in AAA that could help the club.

Martin Perez has a 165 ERA+. What the fuck.

Yup, he's having a aberration year. But I'm all for striking while that iron is hot. Rangers have historically been on the wrong side of those trades for over-achieving pitchers. Would be good to sell one for once.

Perez has done a great job of keeping the ball in the park and he does have his best GB% since 2016, but you figure that will eventually correct. He had a great start last year until he started giving up home runs in June. That being said, his xERA and xFIP are the best marks of his career.

AL MVP is clearly Ohtani right now.
