Mock Drafts : Chat

Here's another draft idea that I've done on the other board where Mookie and Hall draft as well. You're given each team from each conference in a league. So for the NFL we'd do 12 from each conference, there'd be no buckets, the 12 teams would be pre determined. As long as the player played a season (Or 16 games) with the team he's good. Just an idea I had but one I hope is considered. I do like other ideas mentioned here as well.

Thought I did but basically we'd enter the 16 teams from each conference into a randomizer and the 12 teams drawn from each conference would be the teams we'd be selecting from. Again, just an idea, I like uk's idea more than my own and hope that's what we go with next.

So if we are going to bring in outside voters we need to determine who and how many?

I think at least 5 and preferably 7 but it will be hard to get that many people consistently.

Five is a good number but to involve others we have to make rules about voting. Not just voting, you need to give a reason why you vote for that team. It doesn’t have to be a long drawn out paragraph.
If for example, Milk gives a stupid reason, his vote does not count. Which isn’t a bad idea for every draft going forward anyway.

Stupid reason is pretty subjective...

It's funny when my cats get scared they look like cartoon characters when they start running like they spin their wheels! It's fuckin' funny!

I think outside voters may be the stupidest idea ever. I think I have voted against myself at least 25-30 times, I think 2 out of the last 3.
How about this...you can't vote on your own matchup...no more of this "first one to" voting system, everyone votes...if there is a tie, everyone sends Nos a PM with a final score...point differential decides it

I have proposed that before but that really isn't the issue. The issue is the same voters, same opinions. Also, we used to put time into the voting and at this point that isn't going to change but at least we can have different debates with outsiders. All of us know each others' opinions by now. The worst thing that can happen is the outsiders don't really want to take the time to vote or we can't find a group of realistic voters. It seems like most don't even want to vote at this point.

OR do I dare use Milk's idea...we don't vote after the draft is over. We wait until the next draft is over and we back and vote on the previous draft. That really doesn't help the main issue but at least it's an idea to mix it up.

What you really mean is I ain't winning anymore we need to change something.
