No, I like Carew & Gwynn. I never liked Rose, even as a kid but I do appreciate how good of a hitter he was, not as good as either Carew or Gwynn but still damn good!

Thing that I really do like about Rose is that he always played. Kind of a big reason he went over 4,000

Times started at least 150 games in a season.

Crazy stat is Rose played 24 years Gwynn 20 and Carew 19 but Rose had 5,000 more career at bats that either of them.

That’s right. I won’t ever defend Rose the man, but will defend Rose the player as a Phillie fan.

And even I can’t argue it. He’s only in the airspace of guys like Gwynn or Carew due to quantity, not having their quality.

That’s kind of true for most of the top guys on the hits list. They made it more by playing long enough, which is admirable. It’s just not as impressive as a Gwynn, Carew, or even Molitor’s skill level.

I think in my first NFL draft, it was a cap draft, I took Sean Taylor in the 3rd round with a $2 price tag. Thought I was getting a steal!
 
Saw this from an older Hoop draft, but I tweaked it a bit. It's a decade draft. You have to put together a lineup using one player per decade from 1910's to 1990's. For pitching you have to select a player from the every two decades and RP's you draft 4 players from 90/80/70/60. Eligibility would be first year played. 300 games started eligibility for fielding.

So you'd have Lineup:
90's -
80's -
70's -
60's -
50's -
40's -
30's -
20's -
10's or under -

SP:
90's or 80's -
70's or 60's -
50's or 40's -
30's or 20's -
10's or under -

RP:
90's -
80's -
70's -
60's or under -
 
This could be one of the ideas for the NBA portion of the next super draft.

Welcome to the NBA Draft.

We will choose a team of 10 players.

You will choose two players from each decade : 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's

To be eligible the players first game played in the NBA had to be in the decade you select him for.

EX... Wilt Chamberlain will not be eligible because his first came was in 1959.

Each of the 10 players you select will play 24 minutes.

Players who play the 1st quarter will also play the 3rd quarter. Obviously meaning players who play the 2nd quarter will also play the 4th quarter.

The rules for this draft are simple, we will play like old school rules. Meaning, hand checking is allowed, elbow in the back is allowed. if you have Michael Jordan not dribbling once while bringing the ball up court that is allowed.
