One of the grocery stores near me only has crab cakes in their cheapo premade freezer section. They normally would also have spicy crab and salmon cakes.Youngest daughter had a gymnastics competition yesterday. Afterward, we went to dinner. She picked BJ’s (because all she really wanted was a pizzookie). We ordered some calamari for an appetizer and the waitress said she’s sorry, but they’re out. Apparently, they’ve been out for months. How does a decent-sized chain restaurant get out of an everyday item for months? Is there a squid shortage?
I'm guessing there's a shortage of employees and the suppliers are prioritizing either what sells the most or what makes them the most money.
