More Michigan Cheating

"This is worse than both the Astros and the Patriots -- it's both use of technology for a competitive advantage and there's allegations that they are filming prior games, not just in-game," a Big Ten source said. "If it was just an in-game situation, that's different. Going and filming somewhere you're not supposed to be. It's illegal. It's too much of an advantage."
Big Ten source is probably Ryan Day. ole Ryan is tired of getting dominated by Michigan so he's colluding with the NCAA to shut them down. what a pussy.

Day is 2 and 2. Would be 3 and 2 if they played in 2020

That aside...nah.

This thing is igniting like Detroit on Holloween.

A source told ESPN that the Wolverines have used an "elaborate" scouting system to steal signals from future opponents since at least 2021...
If the allegations are proven to be true, Michigan would have violated NCAA Bylaw 11.6.1, which states: "Off-campus, in-person scouting of future opponents (in the same season) is prohibited...
The Big Ten Conference considers the integrity of competition to be of utmost importance and will continue to monitor the investigation," the conference said in a statement...

yep he's some former marine. Like I said I think the real concern is if they used his military experience to intercept electronic communication. If they did that they are in for a shit storm.

That's the best part about this non-issue.

Ohio State fans have now convinced themselves their football dynasty was destroyed because of a cheeseburger and a guy in the stadium with a cell phone. lol

I absolutely love that you think Michigan was using military technology to intercept Ohio State communications lol

But no. That has never been part of this. The allegation isn't about anything that happened during games. The allegation is about sending someone in person to opponent's games in advance to scout them. The "technology" used to record is probably a cell phone.

Well I agree that this is most likely a non issue and I have been rather sarcastic about it from the start don't act like every Michigan fan out there didn't act like players trading in trinkets for tattoos provided some sort of competitive advantage

So I'm calling it right now...Belichick is fired and Harbaugh hired to replace him. Pats love a coach who isn't afraid to break the rules to get an advantage.

They would call that a coach with the kind of experience we are seeking. Hahaha

Different era of football and I think that context is important. Under Tressel we saw multiple players accused, and some convicted, of improper benefits. Clarett was one of the first ones, Pryor driving around in $60,000 "rental" vehicles, and so on. The tatoo scandal was more or less just evidence of the larger thing that was always suspected and that was the only thing the NCAA could prove. I don't think people really cared that they were getting tattoos for free but that information was used to conclude the other things were absolutely happening.

Sounds like the allegation was made, the NCAA had no evidence so they're trying to dig for it.

I also still don't care. Because what does that rule even mean? When John Harbaugh sends scouts to college games, and he tells Jim something, is that breaking this rule? The rule is stupid. In this era of football, not 1994, these teams all play every single game on TV, with multiple cameras recording every play, every coach reaction and every sign they throw up. These videos are shared with everyone, which is why teams go through great lengths to try and code/block others from viewing their signals. They play in 60-100,000k stadiums and everyone has 4k recorders in their pocket. The expectation that these things aren't happening should be out the window. IE this rule is dumb at it's core.

You're so full of shit.

anytime Michigan gets accused of something "so what, everyone is doing it" "it was just a cheeseburger"

Ohio State gets accused of something "that's different, of course"

I believe the word "if" is key here.

Here are two different examples of me saying the NCAA can fuck off in regards to other teams "violations"

Ohio State self reported 12 NCAA violations last year. Some pretty literally identical to the recruiting violations Michigan was accused of. And the only mention of them was in the context of defending what MIchigan did as a "nothingburger"

The NCAA should be abolished because this is a waste of time and nonsense; for the very logical reasons I detailed a few posts back.

"If" they did that, they'd be accused of a different NCAA violation....

Your hypothetical reminds me a bit of this clip:

Michigan is not accused of using technology during games to alter the outcome. Michigan is being accused of sending a person to games in advance to scout teams.

In fact, the only mention of "in game" was some random person in the ESPN article who tried to suggest this is worse than the Astros...who literally had people in-game with cameras monitoring the other team and feeding the information to the coach/players. Which, this is absolutely not worse than that, nor comparable.

Dude, just stop. Post the funny Ohio State memes, laugh at this, laugh at the people trying to make more of it, and move on. Your constant defense in this thread just looks like "thou doth protest too much"

and "IF" they recorded electronic communication in that situation they're in some big shit.

I'm not twisting/defending this. I very simply do not care if they did this. I thought that was pretty well established. And I'm pointing out why people who are up in arms about this are being silly. There's 100k people in a stadium with cameras and 4k recorders. Every single game is recorded at multiple angles and can be used to scout and steal film legally. This is trivial nonsense.

This is the king who apparently took down the Ohio State dynasty, imagine Ryan Day...getting beat by this dude
