More Michigan Cheating

OK. So let's go all the way back to early pages.

If there's not a benefit/advantage to attending games of future opponent's to video their sideline signals, then WHY did Michigan do it?
I don't think this was Michigan doing this, because if Michigan would have done this, the LAST THING they would have done is have the guy pay with his personal credit card.

I think this was an analyst, hired to attempt to break signs in game, trying to make a name for himself. If this was a plot put on by the Michigan coaching staff -- they all deserve to be fired for stupidity, as it would have been painfully easy to purchase the tickets in a million different names with no relation to the program what so ever.

That is why I don't think Harbaugh or any coach making 7 figures had any clue what the guy was doing. It still falls on Harbaugh though, as he was hired by his staff and he is responsible for their actions.

And if it is “Legal” then why is there a NCAA investigation?

I am just waiting for Slimey Jim to remember that cheeseburger all of a sudden….

Yes, of course they did it not some rogue double secret agent. They fucked up and got caught. Own it already.

So Harbaugh, the OC, DC, or anyone else in the film room watching iPhone video exclusively of entire games of future opponents sideline signals never questioned the analyst on where the videos came from?

He just magically had them for every future opponent?

You keep calling him a recruiting staffer. He was hired as an analyst, whose background was in code breaking. He wasn't recruiting anything -- his sole job was to try and figure out the signs. And if you don't think Georgia has someone on the sidelines trying to do the EXACT SAME THING -- you are clueless. ALL TEAMS DO IT.

This is a big deal because the guy was buying tickets to other games. That's it.

I'm embarrassed, but I'm embarrassed by the stupidity of the guy buying tickets with his own credit card. That is the extent of the embarrassment for me. Every single coach in CFB will same the exact same thing -- They ALL are trying to steal the signals of the team they are playing. They are doing it at the HS level, they are doing at the CFB level and they are doing it at the NFL level.
NO FUCKING SHIT. You keep bringing up the obvious. We know you can try to get in-game signs. We know this is all about the "analyst" getting signs illegally. FWIW, "analysts" typically aren't tied to the hip of the OC and DC and telling him the other team's signs that he illegally obtained.

FFS man, you don't have to tell us what this about ... we've been talking about it for 45+ pages.

UGA obviously does the legal in-game stuff. But we don't go and cheat like UM has here.

You should be embarassed because you keep telling us what we have been talking about for 2 days.

Nope. Sign stealing is always legal. Period.

Scouting in person is illegal.
No, sign stealing in-game is legal so long as you don't use electronic means. And you certainly can't scout other games to get signs. Your guy seems to have done both. Cheating mother fucker.

Boy this just keeps unraveling more and more. For the dense, it would NOT be a big story if it was legit okay to do.

You can't be this dense. We all know that you can try to steal signs in-game. Do you think we don't know that? The question is did they do any of the two things that are prohibited:

- Advance scouting at other schools
- Using video or electronic equipment to steal signals.

How could you not understand after 45 pages that is the issue?

And, there is a ton of circumstantial evidence that is what happened.

And no, my guy doesn't have a $50K recruiting staffer sitting next to him. He has million dollar TE coach, and other coaches and analysts next to him. I am sure there are people in the box who are trying to steal signals in-game, and make sense of formations, etc. But, not we don't buy front row seats to all SEC games and potential CFP opponents and stand the entire time recording the team's sideline. If we did, I would be embrassed.
Evidently you can be this dense. SMH

Explain this -- if you believe this was a plan hatched by Harbaugh and the staff -- WHY WOULD THE TICKETS BE PURCHASED BY A COACH ON THE STAFF?!?!?!i

If the tickets were purchased by "fill in the blank of any random person on the planet" -- nothing comes back to the program. THIS is why I don't think it was from Harbaugh, as it would have been painfully easy to cover up.

What you’re suggesting is lack of institutional control - isn’t that exactly what got Baylor’s wins vacated and also got them the death penalty. Huskers might just be one win away from bowling again today. Thanks geniuses.

You do realize the HC isn't the one trying to steal signs, neither is the OC or DC. They have people on staff whose sole job is to try and do this. Hence the reason the guy is next to the OC and DC on the sidelines. Hence the reason the guy whose military expertise was code breaking was hired as an analyst.

And for the last time -- EVERY TEAM ALTERS THEIR SIGNS. I've never played on a team who didn't do this. What he did was definitely wrong, but if you have listened to everyone who has actually played the game that has commented -- they say it isn't a big deal, including your own coach.

My favorite is -- the OSU fans grasping at this, as if that is why they lost to UM, while their own school put out how they had all new signs when they play Michigan. :pound:

I don't know how many times I can say -- the guy was wrong and should be punished. IF it comes out that Harbaugh knew about this -- he should be fired based on his own stupidity, because it would have been extremely easy to purchase tickets in any name other than a staff member.

When did Baylor get the death penalty? Are you thinking SMU?

Also.... A team vacating wins does not give the win to the opponent they beat.

They simply remove the wins from the cheater.

Props on trying to top the PSU fan who compared it to pedophilia. I'm not sure widespread rape and sexual assault that Baylor dealt with tops the pedophilia comparison.

And I'd happily donate a win to Nebraska so the fan base can finally get back to a bowl game. The fans deserve that at the very least.

I'd petition the NCAA to give Nebraska the win. You guys need to get to a bowl game to end that streak.

One more time....

They're all referring to sign stealing your opponent in-game with said opponent.
i.e. You're playing said opponent right now.

They're not referring to a school sending an in-person scout to your game against someone else to steal your signs for the future game with them.
