I’m not going to debate if Michigan broke NCAA rules. It appears we did, and I did not investigate it. I am also not going to point at other programs to absolve us from our actions. What is interesting and needs to be vetted, is the punishment or ramifications fair. Also, are the violated rules dumbass rules. Maybe we can discuss this over a cheeseburger 🍔. 🤣

The rules are in fact dumb, especially given what happens instead to gather the same information.

It’s only “Walmart” Wolverines because of alliteration. A degree from the University of Michigan has served me well.

Well one is addressed 'to the letter' in the NCAA rule book, and the other is not even mentioned.

Thus Michigan getting a Notice of Violations where nobody else has for simply watching tv, deciphering signals, and passing said signals onto other teams.

There were two original violations where Michigan directly broke the rules 'to the letter'.

1) Sending in-person scouts to future opponents games.
2) Having said person use electronic means to record their future opponents games.

From that point, any further violations would be in regard to the 'coverup' of evidence related to the violations.

Care to shoot for 230 pages and still not getting it?

If they can prove it was stallions on the sidelines, yes. That was always the most "rule breaking" aspect of the infractions. To the letter of the rule, hiring 3rd party individuals to sit in the stands and record video for you is actually not against the rules per the letter of the law. This rule in the rulebook mentions "institutional staff members". Throwing money at friends or people on work sites to do this for you is not a direct violation, but always was a violation of the spirit of the rule (much like having information given to you by teams who have already played). If the NCAA hits them with some minor violations for that, my guess is that they'll just take those secondary violations rather than try and fight against the technicality.

I can certainly say the same for my degree from The Ohio State University. I did find it funny he mentioned the vests; when they first came out, only Nike was making them and they were like $60, so it wasn't like it was popular among the financially challenged crowd, so to speak.

What I proved is that your original gaslighting was that "there was no wrongdoing" , and that if there were the NCAA would have issued a 'Notice of Allegations' along with their "Heads-up, Michigan is using illegal means to steal opponents signs" letter to the Big 10.

You implied there was no evidence that such actions were taking place and the entire thing was made up by Ohio St.

As proof gradually became available for all to see, you began your series of goalpost moving in saying "Stalions was such a low level staffer that none of the Michigan coaches even knew who he was", or "that wasn't even Stalions on the CMU sideline because everybody looks like Stalions", or that "Stalions was acting alone", among other moving of goalposts.

Now that said 'Notice of Allegations' has officially been handed to Michigan, we're back to "Well there was no wrongdoing because everybody has a tv and passes signals around".

A rivalry is special to almost every fan that roots for one side of it.

Of course WVU has a rival, if you don’t know then I question your knowledge of college football.

And people like me are “piling on Michigan” because of delusional Michigan fans like Maize coming up with every excuse or goalpost moving argument to excuse Michigan of any wrongdoing. Theres a reason this thread has gone over 200 pages.

I think it just depends what region you are in.

I'd think tejas/Oklahoma is viewed by most in the southern Plains as the biggest rivalry.
Alabama/Auburn is viewed by most in the Southeast to be the biggest rivalry.
Army/Navy
USC/UCLA

I've been pretty clear that I don't think there was any wrongdoing to the letter of the law unless you can prove that was Stallions on the sideline. If the NCAA did prove it was him, that would be a direct violation of the rule; so long as he was scouting with the purpose of helping Michigan and not CMU. This goalpost has never been moved.

You'll notice, the notice of allegations (at least the draft) contained a lot of nonsense related to the investigation (and cooperation with) and not the original claim. Which is an entirely different conversation.
