Ohio State beat the following on the way to the championship:

#7 Tennessee
#1 Oregon
#3 Texas
#5 Notre Dame

During the regular season, they also beat:
#4 Penn State
#8 Indiana

They also lost a couple of games in the regular season, but that does not take away from the amazing run the Buckeyes put together on the way to the championship. Gone are the days where the champion must be undefeated, or win their conference, or even beat their rival.

As Jack Sawyer said on The Player's Tribune - - - "One more game as a Buckeye, then forever."

Congrats to this group of players and coaches.

There are now 3 coaches currently in college football with National Championships - Kirby Smart, Dabo Swinney, and now Ryan Day.

Go Bucks!

Not to take anything away, but until we get our first 16-0 champ, the 15-0 champs are tied for that crown. 2018 Clemson, 2019 LSU and 2022 UGA

Show the paths those teams took to get there.

Ohio State had the toughest draw in the tournament and had to win 4 in a row vs top 7 teams.

Most deserving? Didn't even win your conference, lost to your main rival, and is one of only a handful of 2 loss teams to ever claim a national title. Real national champs go undefeated.

Jack Sawyer will now go his entire life without ever beating Michigan.

NONE of that matters. At the end of the season, there is only one at the top of the mountain.

This year, that is THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES.

They didn’t have gauntlet this team had to go through. Best season? Not even close, they had 2 losses but the it was the most difficult path in college football history. Obviously, the first year of the 12 team and eventually 16 team. But they basically played the 2 top teams in the nation and beat 4 blue bloods on their way to the title and made it look fairly easy.

Jack is champion and he did it the right way.

No cheating at Ohio St, that’s only things they teach at scUM.

I know it really sucks for you having to watch a real champion, not one that cheated to get there.

18-7 in the last 25 years. Keeping thinking that has changed.

CHAMPIONS!

Ohio State wouldn't have even qualified for the title game or playoff in previous years. They're a two loss team. This team got lucky that they expanded the field "best ever" lol.

It was the toughest playoff path, whoever won this year was gonna get that distinction by default.

"most deserving ever" didn't even deserve a spot in the playoff

Looky...it slowly starting to come out. The fake celebration is turning into "they shouldn't have even had a chance"

It's ok, MnB

robin williams its not your fault GIF
