I get it, it sucks that you have no bragging rights over Michigan. In the context of "most deserving ever" I'm only pointing out the irony in a team that wouldn't have had a shot any other year.
 
Okay I'll play devils advocate.

Ohio St finished two games behind their conference champion.

Lost to their biggest rival who had a 5 loss season at home.

Wouldn’t have even sniffed a 4 team playoff.

Probably doesn’t make an 8 team playoff if all Power 4 conference champions get auto bids along with the highest ranked G5 school.

Was awarded a home playoff game immediately after only scoring 10 points in that miserable game vs their rival.

Weakest champion this century by far?

Theyd have made an 8 team. No way they put PSU in over OSU having beat them on the road.

Best team ever, I'm still only going 95 Nebraska or 2019 LSU. As far as what they had to earn it, these Buckeyes certainly have an argument for most deserving

Lot of “ifs” and “buts”. Your conclusion that they didn’t deserve to be there rests on playoff formats and criteria that do not exist.

Playoffs are are meritocracy. They won four games against highly ranked opponents to earn the title. Everyone wanted more teams to be eligible. They got what they wanted. 7 vs 8 went all the way.

Off topic but Greathouse is gonna have a heck of a year for you guys next season
 
Congrats to Ohio on their national title win. It was definitely a tough road to get there and they got it done. Enjoy!!!

Just a side note -- Don't go crazy calling them the best team ever or anything like that. They lost two games, were 4th place in the B1G and didn't win a conference title. You got hot at the right time. Enjoy the title, you guys have some of most die hard fans and you guys deserve this. Please sprinkle some of this mojo on my Lions for next season.

On to my life as a travel baseball coach/chauffeur -- we have indoor tournies in tiffin and Rossford in the next two months. Going to be a fun running into your fans there😁

Yes he came on at the end. He played his best against the toughest opponents. If we had a better passer who knows what his numbers would have looked like

I didn't say they were the best team ever. I said they were the most deserving champion. That is based on the format they played in.

They earned the championship by beating 4 of the top 7 teams in the country in consecutive games.
